Looking for info PLEASE

Post by aberdeb »

Hello: I am going to Amsterdam for the first time on April 8th. The trip is a birthday present to me from my husband. I am turning 54. I would like information on the best coffee shops to visit. My requirements are: Excellent chronic, outdoor smoking area (my husband does not smoke due to his job plus he is sensitive to all smoke). Any information would be greatly appreciated. I wish to stay away from the tourist type places. I do not want to smoke any dirt or lousy stuff. I have been smoking for 40 yrs., off and on, so I do know what is good and what isn't. Thank you all!

Welcome to the forum.

What dates will you be in Amsterdam?
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.

First timers get my S G Collins recommendation
I think a read of this will maximize your efficiency once you get there.

How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.

If you want to get away from "touristy", do a day or half day trip to Haarlem.
WW Sensimilla has a rooftop area that can be fun. V&D has a very nice restaurant on the top floor.

Enjoy

i just want to double-check that you have read this document from the excellent S G Collins website recommended by FlyByNite

if you have already read the document, then thanks, but if not, then please please read before you arrive to ensure your safety in amsterdam traffic, and thanks

well happy birthday

basjoe is an excellent coffeeshop and has a small outdoor seating area

het ballonnetje is a pleasant locals coffeeshop with outdoor seating

yo-yo is in de pijp area so out of the centre near the albert cuyp markt, it has a 60s feel, is a gallery with paintings on the wall, a high ceiling so it doesn't get too smokey and an outdoor seating area (and it has a great apple dessert)

vondelpark is a beautiful park which is well worth a visit, it is also smoker-friendly away from the children's play areas

have a great trip ...

High and welcome!

Happy birthday in advance, and what a great present to have going to the dam!

Id recommend coffeeshops Basjoe ( try their Bas Special) Hunters (try their kushadelic and lavendar) Katsu (try their black widow) Green Place (try their blueberry haze, blueberry cheese and headband)

Just some quality smoke suggestions for you, but there are so many places which have got some great strains atm. Avoid the grasshoppers and bulldogs as they = tourist traps.

Enjoy! :)
