  Ha Ha great stuff. Reminds me of a few years back when one of our mates got so blasted he slithered out of his chair and was laid in dream land on the floor. Being the good bunch that we are, made sure nobody stepped on him until we had finished our current round of tokes (prioritising) and wondered what to do.
Unable to stir him, and why should we as he seemed to be in a great place looking at the smile on his face, we eventually had a bright idea  - we’ll go for a smoke somewhere else and have another think about it.
Although we had a hazy clue where we were it wasn’t realistic to take him back to the hotel, besides which it was only mid afternoon with the whole evening ahead of us. We decided to move on to another CS and half drag/carry him with us; upon turning a corner as if by magic help was at hand – an old green door lying on top of a skip.
With an OK from the builders the ‘stretcher’ was ours. Our mate was laid on top and between six of us managed to carry him to the next place. We propped the door outside and wedged him into a chair. By this time he was stirring (conveniently) in time to top himself up on the next round and flake out again.
We repeated this procedure without dropping him for a few more CS’s and hours, he thankfully perked up and managed from then on under his own steam. Probably the early evening chill of an October night in the ‘Dam and the overheard suggestion that ‘we could set it alight and try and float him down the canal like a Viking longboat funeral’ stirred him.
All was well and we had a great time. We still laugh about it, just one of a load of wacky and funny things that happened over the years.
As a reminder a few years later we presented him with a framed “In Case of Emergency Break Glass” 2ft x 1ft section of a green door (not the same one) as a special birthday gift.
So mate, have a magical birthday and some legendary smokes with some great folks. If you have any horizontal moments I'm sure you will be well cared for! Wish I was there to share in the fun :D
First visit October 1976 last visit still to come ....
