Yup, good call and you get to pass through Humboldt.Bob wrote:I'm sure Route 66 has got it's charms (like, the grand canyon), but do you really want to go thru Texas?
What about the Pacific Coast Highway.
Starts in Los Angeles, passes thru the northern Cali redwood forests, Oregon and the Columbia River Gorge, up into Washington and the Olympic National Forest, from Seattle you can hop onto a ferry for Vancouver, BC. This is an good route if you want to find excellent gear along the way.
If you start in Los Angeles and start driving towards Chicago, you are heading away from great bud.
Live and sort of kicking.

Are you stoned? Like a gravel road bitch, like a gravel road!
what's wrong with Texas?
Nothing besides the bush family and the death penalty is wrong with Texas. I was just making an out-dated joke.

Yea boney still post,I know we didnt talk much on channels with all the fighting going on! but here youve proven yourself as a sound bloke man,It would be shame for the board/community to loose you completely
,Ps my mate has also taken a hiatus from amsterdam after his 3rd visit & hes been to turkey & spain since then,Maybe your are just on a comedown after yor trip? i get like that for abut 3-4 days after i get back,Or maybe your need some sun next time? just take it easy whatever your next step is man,Doc.
While Bob is correct, the further west you are, the easier it is to score quality; I do know someone in Chicago
who always has organic Big Buddha and Green House strains on hand. It's pretty safe to say that people are waking up to our way of thinking all over the place. Shouldn't be too difficult to get quality in most major metro areas of the country anymore. And yes, even in Texas.

25+ times is alot so i can definitely understand where your coming from. Although i have only posted here for a couple of years ive enjoyed all your posts and think youve contributed amazingly to this forum.
On another note, route 66 in a campervan is one of my 'personal missions' that ive been thinking about for ages now so i hope you get to do it and have the time of your life!
(if you do decide to go ahead with the idea at any point.....post a travelouge one day

I'm with Bob and geoffk, the Pacific Coast Highway over Route 66. Driving through the redwoods is a real trip, never imagined you would be so close to the trees when I looked at it on a map. Route 66 is a bit dated and over hyped in my opinion. The only reason it ever became popular was because it use to be the major highway to the west coast, before the interstate highways were constructed.
