First trip ever, July 2nd - July 9th!

Going to Amsterdam from July 2nd to July 9th.

So, staying there for a week and doing my first trip to Netherlands in general, I've planned to visit only a few coffee shops, hang out in Vondelpark and see some famous places, eat at Burger Bar etc. Main reason why I'll do so little, is that I want to take it pretty slowly, enjoy the moment, not to worry will I see everything that the town holds in time. I'm there to smoke and eat well, that shouldn't be too hard. I'll be located in Hotel Kooyk that is in Leidsekade.

My coffee shop list is this:

Dolphins
Katsu
Basjoe
Amnesia
de Kuil (420 Cafe)
Grey Area

Since I'm not that much of a hc smoker, I'll take it slowly, just to try some not-that-strong stuff first, then head to the ultimate rush towards the end of my trip (who knows I'll do it after a day there). Anyway, I have very little experiences about different types of weed, I mainly smoke some crappy hash that is the easiest one available here. Only buds I can recall I've smoked are K20, White Widow and Silver Haze, beat that! I'm up to very high atmospheres, but I also want to see how deep I can sunk into a sofa. Like most of you guys, I'm properly prepared, read "how to not get hit by a bike" & lots of reviews of different kind of cannabis strains. It's not the brands or names, main goal is to get high as f¤ck.

I have only few concerns considering this trip; how do I hide my smoking in hotel room effectively and how to avoid dangerous situations during night time. First one is totally up to me and 2nd one is out of my reach. But with some good old fashion thinking should go a long way this time too. A bit a anxious since this is my first solo trip outside my home country ever, always been with friends. I know everything will go ok, but rather safe than sorry.

After some quick studying, I've set my daily budget somewhere around 90-120e, including food and weed. Decided not to go museums (well, I'll give it a chance if I see it interesting), and since food and beverages cost just about the same here and there, that should do just fine.

Any comments, suggestions, anything? I'll do some live reporting with my mobile so I'm an easy target to T&T with.

Cool, have fun. I think you'll be fine. As far as "dangerous situations" at night, just keep use common sense and you'll be fine. I've never bothered with smoking in a hotel room, but I've heard people use the following tactics:
-towel rolled up at bottom of door
-blocking smoke detector
-blowing the smoke in a paper towel or toilet paper tube stuffed with a dryer sheet. I'm sure there are plenty more tricks too.

Do hotels usually have windows that you can open, or are they locked somehow? If I'd have a hotel, I would lock them, but who knows. That would make things so much easier. Man this waiting is a killer, I can almost imagine the first inhale in my first coffee shop, realizing "After all this waiting, I'm here.."

I suppose that depends on the hotel. I haven't stayed in a hotel since 2000, and I don't remember that much about my trip, even though I was there for 10 days

You'll love Amsterdam in the Summer! There is nothing like sitting at Basjoe outside, smoking a spliff and watching the world go by. I'll arrive in Amsterdam on the morning of July 6th. I'm sure you will have settled in by then but I plan on having a Toke & Talk while you are there. You'll be safe, just use a little common sense. And for smoking in the hotel, try and get a smoking room if possible. If not then a wet towel under the door and a rubber glove over the smoke detector, open a window and toke away blowing smoke out the window. Most hotels do have windows that will open partially at least. You could also smoke in the bathroom if there is a exhaust fan. A small pipe is also convenient for smoking in the hotels. Your budget is doable as well. Nice list of shops also. Basjoe, Katsu & 420 are must visits for me every trip.

as theyve all stated your love it. the only bad situation i can imagine are twats psst you in the RLD just ignore them ive found myself in some pretty sticky situations and have only been asked if i was ok or needed help. being solo is the best thing you could do, it will be at your pace and your see everything you want + smoke great bud its win win win. most non smoking rooms stink of tobacco anyway, smoke next to open widow you shoul be fine
