at last

Post by ray »

greeting peeps, hows tricks? hope all is good.

well after planning a trip for me and the missus for a couple of years now, and not making it, we have finally booked for august this year.

9th-12th, mon-thurs, styaing at the multatuli hotel(not yet booked but we fancy this one)

so, we are after suggestions for cs's that are pretty close, that we can finish off our evening at with a few cold beers and a smoke without having a long walk back to the hotel(missus has arthritus)

ideally somewhere with some chilled music and a nice relaxed atmosphere.

what about around the barneys/picaso area??

a chilled and friendly atmosphere is a must, cant be doing with loud youths/pissed up tourists.

cheers peeps
keep it clean and green.

Hi Ray

You have a good location there - plenty to choose from. Barneys, Popeyes, Dampkring.. I've never heard of the hotel - looks lovely though (and pricey) :D

Sounds like you could do with some of the relaxed brown cafes for drinks.

There's a couple marked here but this is just a quick look. A lot of the fun is in the planning :D

Have fun.

No matter where you stay there will be a coffeeshop close by, The area you have mentioned by Picasso's would be good, have many coffeeshops close by. Popeyes, Siberie, Amnesia, Grey Area, Resin and Homegrown Fantasy are all close by and are great coffeeshops, Paradox is a bit of a longer walk but one of my favs. You also have about 10 other shops in the area, Double Reggae, Freeworld, Hollywood, Rastababy, Greenhouse Lounge, Rockerij which are shops i dont go in often, Barneys is a good shop but a little pricey.

Have fun, take the tram down to the south, and explore the areas around the Albery Cuuypstraat Market.

:-)

You have been posted on the August Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.
Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

or an email address if you want.

This won't happen in a coffeeshop anymore, you'll have to find a smoke friendly bar. NES is a good one.

Enjoy
