Have to agree with you there.Staying in an apartment gives you so much more freedom. Last 2 times ive been i rented a house just off Niewmarkt and it was one of the most beautiful places ive stayed. In May i rented a little apartment next to Westerpark, turned out to be an amazing artists art studio. Im heading back in February and ive already got the apartment sorted for a ridiculously cheap price.templeball wrote:Its cool if you like the location etc but why spend more than an apartment costs on a hotel room, and why hang out of a hotel window in the middle of winter when for less money you can be sitting in a comfy sofa next to your mates/missus chuffing in your own lounge all day and night if you want....for me its no contest nowadays, its apartments all the way (plus you can make toast at 3 in the morning if you want to)..stulid wrote:Yes. Asked the dude when we arrived, it was fine if we smoked with the window open and with my arms hanging outside. Was'nt a problem as in the room was two chairs and a table, so i pulled one upto the window and sparked up. Prices for 4 nights was 240euros per person mid march, saturday till wednesday![]()

Hi Jollylittlehun, this artists studio you mentioned...Ive seen one on the web that sounds similar, and at night you have full run of the garden or studio or something similar, its at the bak of an artists studio, is that the same one do you think? It sounded interesting, i liked the idea of havin the run of a bigger place after everyone else goes home, its like Night at The Museum for stoners...jollylittlehun wrote:Have to agree with you there.Staying in an apartment gives you so much more freedom. Oh, and what was the price? If it's not included in the link...
Hi Folks,
a pleasure to share the info...
I booked through
Nieuwe Looier Apartment
http://www.amsterdamstay.com/index.html ... =2&pId=111
but apparently they add a bit on and really the aprtment is actually part of http://amsterdamcityapartments.nl/ register. It is I think a little bit cheaper for the same aprtment through http://amsterdamcityapartments.nl/, so try their web site first, though its a bit less user friendly...
115 euros per night for two persons, worth every penny, very modern and up to date, really nice people run the show, Adriian collected us from the airport, drove us straight there and had a credit card machine with him for the payment. Very together and friendly chap. Well worth the e40 for us both, as from leaving the arrivals hall to sitting in Mellow yellow having done our bags and keys and payment, it was about 35 mins max!! Heaven. Perfect location for strolling around, hardly any tourists, superb location for short stroll to katsu and de graal (de graal had the best pollen by miles on my trip if you like old school proper pollen) three trams go from the end of the road to central Station (i think 29, 16 and somethiung else), only restriction is that it is a locals building and so you have to be quiet at night after 10.30pm. Let me know if you book it, I can bore you with some local places we found for pancakes etc...

At our first trip we stayed at Acro Hotels. We didn't want to spend a lot of money for a hotel or smtn but we really got a nice offer. It was worth it cuz the place is really beautifull. Typical ned house with wicked stairs. No smoking policy was not a problem (atleast for us)
On our second trip a friend found a camping place (http://www.campingamsterdamsebos.nl/) with nice huts, staff etc. Another beautifull place.. a lil bit away from the centre but again that wasn't a problem for us. We'll defo stay there in may when we'r finally coming to queensday.

Thanks for info, TB. Really nice to hear that he picked you up from Schipol!! Wow! Great service, I must say.
I'll certainly let you know if we book it. Sounds like a wonderful spot. And being quiet won't be a problem...we'll be too stoned to make a racket
Adraan tells some great local stories on the way too, great character..

Just got back from Hotel Bellevue in Maartelessgrahgt or some sort of spelling like that anyway.
Nice hotel upgraged to a double from a single free of charge.
Polite and curteous staff.
Room on the top floor 5th, noise lveel was ok even with the window open. Free porn on the TV at midnight.
Only downside was that the room was very dusty and has been cleaned for some time the dust was so thick I was writing my name in it. Not good if you have a dust alergy.
Other than that worth staying at again.

Yes, this is a great apartment. We stayed there on our first visit, right around the corner from Mellow Yellow and Little Shop.templeball wrote:metal4mullets wrote:Hey, Temple...do you have a link to the apartment you stayed at across from the school? Also stayed there numerous times.was a great, well equipt apartment.loved the multi coloured bathroom and tulip light in the bedroom. As you say the fridge was always well stocked on arrival with the essentials, including a couple of beers and relatively cheep. Also being just around the corner from stix was rather handy.Tried to book for a recent trip and didn't get any reply from paula, on a previous visit she mentioned that she maybe stopping renting the place out.Recht Boomsloot 97 Whyus apartments
CityMundo Apartment Hortusplantsoen - Located near the Waterlooplien, across the canal from the Hortus Botanicus. Nice studio with a single bed and a double bed, private toilet & shower with a small kitchen. Located in the attic so there are a LOT of stairs. Smoker friendly

Nh Amsterdam Centre - Right across the street from the Leidseplein. Nice enough hotel, got a great deal through Pricline. had a smoking room on the third floor with a view of the Marriott next door. They did however mess up the bill at checkout. They said I had drunk 30E worth of wine and water from the mini bar. Might stay there again if I got the same deal, but would skip it for full price.
