Has anyone ever had this happen upon return to the US?
I've been asked on return to uk what hotel I stayed at and what I did in Netherlands. Without thinking I just said been toking away all weekend. The guy just laughed and said at least your honest. I was expected to be searched but once he filled in some card he just waved me though. Might have been due to flying into a smaller local airport as every time I have been through London I have had all my stuff searched.

I've never been asked that question, but if I were I could truthfully just say "I can't have caffeine". Intelligence coupled with psychology will beat customs every time.
LOVED the video, colin. Saw it was almost 1.5 hours and thought I'd never watch it all. I watched every second of it, that Billy Murphy is something else! I would encourage everyone who lives in the U.S. to watch it. I have never had happen to me what some of those minorities faced (I was outraged), but everyone should be aware of their Constitutional rights.

Colinzeal thanks for the link, I received the video through a donation to MPP. I Just checked to make sure that the link sent you to, Flex your Rights. Doing service work in a collage town I have had groups of young people watch it. They do not teach civil liberties like they did when I was in school.

I wouldn't show my ass with customs. I believe coming back from Amsterdam gives them reasonable suspicion to begin with, so I'd just let them search whatever they asked and avoid any hassle.
When my hair was dark, very curly, and passed my rear end (see avatar), I was searched every single time I got on a plane after 9/11. I had never been searched before that date, but I'm half Persian and looked it with my natural hair. I don't wear a lot of makeup, but often wore mini skirts and things like that. I was still searched and patted down due to racial profiling. Once they heard my 'southern drawl', they knew I wasn't a terrorist, but they still had to finish the search. I even had a little line all ready for them after several times of being patted down (they always apologize):
"It's okay just don't grab my butt....... you know now that I think about it, it's been awhile - give it a squeeze."
Broke the tension and we'd all laugh. I never used to fly without my stash back then and never once did they find it, no matter how much I took. Just be cool and don't get pissed off or nervous. They watch your eye movement, body movement, perspiration, how long you hesitate to answer questions, etc... and make no mistake, they're watching you while you're standing in line before you go through. Never had a problem with customs picking me out, but after 9/11 security had me pegged for search before I ever got to the front of the line.
A few years ago I went blonde and also straighten my hair while blow drying it... not once have I been searched since then.
