I would also urge you to look into Deontological Ethics, which is the Duty based approach to ethics expressed by Kant, this is by no means the be all and end all of his works but is an extremely interesting aspect of it.Newbie 2 dah Dubbie wrote:

Another good proponent of Deontological Ethics is W.D Ross, he's defiantly worth looking into. An extremely good book for looking into the basics of Ethical Philosophy is Moral and Political Philosophy by Paul Smith. It's in alot of online E-book collections but it worth buying for sure. P Smith is a current lecturer at English Universities and a very nice guy.
