Hey newbie,

Congrats, as someone has previously said, practice really does make perfect!

In my teenage days I couldn't roll, but had a friend who could. Got sick of relying on him to be around to smoke, so I learnt. You will get better, but while you're learning, you could always use a rolling machine. Rizla used to make 1 called the 'Cadet', which came in small (single, small rizla paper size) or king size (Rizla king size length, not Rizla slims). This was a great investment, and I recommend you get 1 for yourself, for those days when you just can't be bothered!

Happy rolling! 8)

Willjay wrote:n2dd, I usually get three joints to the gram when I'm in the dam. I roll a single paper joint no filter, 1960's style ,. Some of the bags are a little over or under a gram depending were you buy. BlueBird has fix price 12.50 euro bags, the weight varies with the strain. Buy a gram roll three joints smoke two save one for bed time go to next coffee shop buy a gram smoke two now your mate has one for bed time, next coffee shop start saving for your wake and bake, there is a pattern developing here. Have fun.
thanks - I guess that is how I was rolling - just papers - I like your method :)

why do people use filters? what is it filtering - sorry for silly question - is it so you don't suck the weed in your mouth?? or does it filter out the "bad" stuff like cigs?

Those " filters" are not filters.
Works more as a roach clip. Are a way to smoke joint all the way down to the end.
Great way to learn to roll, but not an American thing. ( although more of us are learning to do it that way )

good idea!! yeah it's hard to smoke all the way to end - just use a clip thingy if someone has one :)

Clip thingy = Roach Clip
Rolling machines can be bought almost any where, including in Amsterdan, are inexpensive.

I often forget what an aquired skill joint rolling actually is.

As I have been rolling for what feels like forever it is often easy to assume it's something easily learnt however I have been told by non-smokers how my joints look like machine manufactured cone shaped consistant pieces.

It would never have occurred to me just how much of a skill it is if they hadn't mentioned it, got me looking at my joints differently with a new appreciation of how delicate a skill it is. As previously said, practice makes perfect.

It's a skill worth learning, but unless u are going for a budtender job I would prob leave it off your CV lol

Buy a pack of skins and just keep rolling then breaking open, then rolling again just for learnings sake. It's how most ppl I know learnt.

I'm such a bad roller lol. I always smoke from a bubbler. I need to practise rolling again tho, i'm bad at making roaches. Sometimes a fat joint is where it's at.

Newbie,
Can't wait to see how your rolling technique has come along in about a month. Be watching the "Trips Before" discussions as I will post a T&T soon! Probably Basjoe, but I am anxiously awaiting the reports from the 4/20 crew before deciding!
