It's the media blowing things out of proportion as usual.
Re: that story about the scrotum (which I think is bollocks

by the way):
Cops warned the drug can also become addictive and taken with alcohol or cut with other drugs it could result in death.
Kermit, it isn't about arguing with you personally it's about differant opinions which is what forums/debates/life should be about.

Dude, i do like them, but i think there's a lack of filling. Creme Eggs deliver on the filling, plus, you can eat one of those bad boys in one go. The Twisters are the wrong shape. I can be undignified enough on my shitty bike dropping shit all over the place without deep throating a chocolate bar.

Why is there no news of possible pre-existing medical conditions, experimenting with mixing meTHadone and mePHerdrone and mixing all of the above with alchohol.
People jump on the sensationalist bandwagon all over, whether they think they are well informed or not.

go the euro discussion section of bluelight and you will find it is being used pretty widely in the party scene.
Education has to also come form our side to people in the scene. Informing those about the dangers of ingesting chemicals made in China with no studies on long-term damage should be the first priority. This is also the role of government whether they do a good job or not.
With things like MDMA there is plenty of really good research out there on its effects, benefits, dangers, etc. Not so with meow.

So show me the information, studies, etc on how it is ok to take? There are none because this stuff is very new.

i think more studies should be carried out regarding its effects. I would support a view of one of the ACMD scientists that a class X be adopted into the misuse of drugs act that all new legal highs are put into until research has been carried out to see if its a hazard to our health rather than blatantly make it illegal and put into a class A, B or C (even though the MDA is bullshit and the law misuse the act as they see fit)
I have tried meph a few times, but only mixed it once with alcohol and that was scary as hell... on its own i was fine, so in my opinion i'm guessing a lot of the deaths accredited the meph is due to users mixing it with other drugs and/or alcohol

Would you mind sharing its effects?

Just to clarify, I think that the current situation is completely unacceptable, with anyone being able to sell to anyone, and no regulation on the supply side(although purity levels are generally very high in comparison to illegals).
However, prohibition is not the tool to use to fix our drugs problems. In fact, it introduce a whole range of new problems, and is counterproductive in achieving it's stated aims.
We need a third way, a way that minimizes the accessibility of drugs to youngsters and one that discourages the use of new compounds, whose effects are not thoroughly known.
Prohibition does not equal regulation, and it is regulation of these substance that is required.

To be honest I was more referring to the fact any of these factors could have contributed to the deaths that have been blamed on this substance. I doubt there'll be any guidelines on how to ingest plant food.

It's like any other drug you buy in a club, neck it and hope for the best. Jeez, pills are cut to fuck with fuck knows what, it's just as risky as that man. Bottom line, if you're going to do certain drugs there is a risk if you do too much you're going to be in trouble. Watch your dose, better, ask a friend who's not on it to watch your dose. Stick to a low amount first time, and if you feel like things are fucking up really bad don't be scared to ask for help and for fuck sake tell the truth about what you've been putting in your body that night.
I get pissed off at all this ' it isn't safe so ban it' stuff. People are going to do it, there aren't studies atm on it, but that is not a cause to end the discussion. With shit like this it's a pragmatic solution that is needed, and since the Government and upcoming Tory leaders aren't going to want to do the sensible thing and legalise, regulate and educate then people have to follow the advice that one would follow when taking any other substance that they haven't taken before. Be careful, have a sober party there to keep an eye on you and ask for help if you need to.
EDIT : DoobyDave, i realise im coming dangerously close to echoing your POV.
