For a main source of food i cannot get enough of Wok 2 Walk (although it can get a bit on the expensive side!) Snack wise hmmmmmmmmmm........... well thats tough. amsterdam is full of bakerys, pizzia bars, snack stalls u name it! so will just have to say...whatever takes my fancy at that moment.lol(i love all food :D suprised im not twice tha size i am!lol )

Quick word of warning (although sum might enjoy this so dont mean to offened anyone) the chip bar up damrak near the cafe 420 turning is all good but dont ask for cheesy chips! here in the UK when u ask for cheesy chips they simply sprinkle sum form of cheddar over the hot chips so they melt in. Well this was squrty cheese from a bottel. but not like anything i have ever tasted before! Like i said i love all food but this made me wretch! :? It smelt like rotten fruit mixed with puke!
Yet one of my friends decided that he could not tell if he liked it or not so he munched the WHOLE thing down and pretty much most of mine to then say..... nah i dont like it! i was Amazed! think it was a mix of being very very high and the fact that he can be a machine when it comes to food!lol

Essentials for me are:

Plenty of chocomel
Plenty of coca cola
Sugar in the form of chocolate

Nacho Bugels
Crackers of some sort
Cheese (usually high fat soft for spreading on those crackers!)

erm.......that's it really

I reckon there's a lot of money to made here.. Someone should open a dedicated munchies outlet somewhere in Dam Central. I'm taking high quality, visually appealing, stoner-tailored munch. The coffeeshops already have it covered but there should be a dedicated shrine to munch somewhere that people can make pilgrimages to. Like Burger Bar, but for sweet rather than savory..

I've seen several, mostly centrum-ish, all the decent bakeries for a kick off, then Holtmann(?) on Vijzelstraat. Nice bag of choccies for the stroll down to MY. 8) 8)

The pre-prepared fruit salads from AH.
Maoams (awesome chewy, fruity sweets made by Haribo)
Stroopwafel
Springrolls
Frites
Pancake (from the Carousel at Weteringcircuit) with apple and bacon - a properly dutch topping. :)
Frikandel special (not sure how it's spelled. Essentially a hot dog cut in half and stuffed with mayo/mustard/ketchup and raw onions. Sounds foul. Looks foul. Tastes lovely.)

OMG...dude, it's Amsterdam. EVERYTHING is a "munchie" :D

Our staples were:

Burger Bar

Moaz

VleminckX (sp?) for frites.

Magnum Ice Cream bars from any of the AHs around.
