ACD 420 2010 - Souvenir Luggage Tags

ACD 420 2010 - Souvenir Luggage Tags

a few weeks ago i was asking myself ... "if i were going to amsterdam for the acd 420 gathering in 2010, what would i like to bring back as a souvenir of the event?"

whatever it was it would have to something small and light in weight ... if it also served as a form of visual identification to help meet up with other acd forum members on the coffeeshop tour, then that would be a bonus ... and then i thought of a luggage tag ... it could be displayed on a backpack/rucksack, say, during the event and then on the way home packed away more discreetly perhaps

my next question to myself was what to put on the luggage tag ... i thought that as the theme of the acd 420 event was visiting coffeeshops, maybe a tag could have a photo of a coffeeshop on it ... and then i could have a set of coffeeshops, one tag for each coffeeshop at the top of azlaker's poll ... and then i could put them all on a little strap or key ring ... and that, i thought, would be a souvenir

ok ... coffeeshops ... that sounds like fun ... but maybe, i thought, i could also make them useful too by putting a small but relevant extract of the acd coffeeshop map on the back of the tag, then maybe the little map might help someone who was quite near to the shop, but also a little bit lost, be able to navigate those last few but important steps to the actual entrance of the coffeeshop ...

for example, the tag for Sanementereng could look like the following -

the front of the tag ..... Image ..... and the back ..... Image

as a trial i made a sample set of coffeeshop tags (choosing the shops leading azlaker's poll at the time) and put them on a key ring ... the result was fun to play with ... and as i flipped the tags around the key ring, in my mind's eye i was actually using the little map on the back of the tag and navigating those last few but important steps to the actual entrance of each of the coffeeshops which would end up at the top of azlaker's poll on the 1st of april 2010 ... and in my mind's eye i was enjoying the smoke ... and in my mind's eye i sat there melting away from the very good marijuana and flipping the tags around the key ring trying to decide which of the shops to hit next ...

then i thought other acd members might enjoy the coffeeshop tags too ... so i have decided to share them here ...

below please find a set of thumbnail images ... each of these is a link to a full-size image containing the front and back tags of two coffeeshops ... (two per page to save paper)

there are full-size images for the coffeeshops at the top of azlaker's poll, there are also a couple of tags for my personal favorites as well as one for 't nes cafe as it is the spiritual home of acd, there are also two fun ones which are my just-for-fun suggestions for the awards for best coffeeshop and best weed strain (if that is a category for judging), and finally there is a blank tag which can be used to add an avatar (or whatever) if desired to make a personalised tag

on a technical note the luggage tag images are provided at a resolution of 96 dpi (dots per inch) ... the recommended size for the area on the blank tag to insert your own avatar/whatever is 178x144 pixels (ie an image which is 178 pixels in width and 144 pixels in height)

and finally ... grateful thanks are due to lemming for his very kind permission to use the pixels of the acd coffeeshop photographs, maps and more in the tags

How to make a luggage tag

1. left-click with the mouse on the thumbnail to display the larger image

2. right-click on the larger image

3. either print the image immediately or save to print later (note: use heavy card or photo paper)

4. after printing, cut out each individual graphic image on the page using the cutting guide marks

5. for each tag, glue the front piece to the back piece

6. if desired, laminate the tag

7. using a paper hole punch and the small guide mark cross, punch a hole in the tag

8. attach the tag to a small strap or key ring (hint: when attaching a tag to a key ring, keep the tag flat along the key ring and not sideways to the ring)

You also could also put the schdule of events on one side too - so in case you "forget" where you are supposed to be you can look on the tag???

Nice work SS67. Those could be worn like a CC judges pass. It would be a way for Coffee shop workers to identify ACD members. This could make our presence known during 4/20 and the days before and after. This could mean future perks for members as well as well stocked shops.
