Hiya mate,
There are so many factor involved when it comes to coming up with a suitable figure for spending. Are you and your friend big smokers? Do you plan on buying alot of weed? What kind of accomodation you looking for as its her birthday, luxury or basic? Are you going to eat out alot or use supermarkets?
When i go for 3 nights i can spend in the region of 300 - 400 on food, weed and all other stuff which is day to day like drinks etc, Other times I spend more and less. Im not sure on hotel prices for 7 days as I never go for that long, but when i go alone i can get a room, 3 nights, smoker friendly, en suite bathrood and free breakfast between 200 euros and 300 euros. Again it depends on what you are looking for. Apartments can work out cheaper than hotels and can smoke in a lot of them, and of course there are hostels which are dirt cheap to.
Im staying at the hotel vijaya at the end of the month solo, Its central, 200 euros for 3 nights with bathroom, tv and brekkie. Plus it has smoking rooms. Hotel abba would be a good choice to or maybe the old quarter.
Peace

I had been reading through the post about green house effect and understand it have a good reputation, but is it far from the city centre of amsterdam, cuz i believe my friend would like to party a bit or hang around the city at night
thank you all!

A gram of weed can be anything between 8 or 15 euros depending on where you get it and what it is. I always over budget myself to cover for shortfalls. Say 12 euros a gram X 10 grams for a day over 7 days will be 840 euros. You might want to go higher and say 900 euros.
Greenhouse effect bar/hotel is where you want it, right bang there in all the action of the popular Warmoesstraat, and there are loads of coffeeshops including Hunters, Babas, Stones etc & headshops to browse in, places to eat on the door step. 1 min walk to central station to

Stayed at Greenhouse Effect last year and like The Stoned Shaman said, exactly the location you want. Smack dab in the middle of all the action and they have free breakfast and discounted smokables at the coffeeshop next door.
Ask for the Tropical Dreams room if it fits your budget. Perfection.
When are you staying at Vijaya, Shaman?
I'll be there from the 17th thru 21st and am nervous about what the room will look like. GHE spoiled me.

Hi FenixNYC mate, You will be in the DAM before me as im not arriving until the 26th April. Hope you find the hotel and room suitable, and it would be great to hear your feedback on the Vijaya before I head out.FenixNYC wrote:Stayed at Greenhouse Effect last year and like The Stoned Shaman said, exactly the location you want. think of a figure that you will need, then double it and take plastic.....it all depends on you and what/how much you want to do........if you've just won the lottery then go for it....personally i budget for between 100-150 gbp/day depending on length of stay....and that's not a huge amount and i still end up somehow spending at least another 200 on the plastic, but that bribes the missus for letting me go(considering she gets virtually no notice i'm going)
