Hey Deb. No problem about hijacking my page. And happy B day for your big 5 Oh. Its great to hear from the older stoners - I feel more human now. Just one thing Deb, whilst I realise your iddy is a pun on the group the Grateful Dead, I was a wondering what your grateful for!

And try to make it to the 420 reunion. Would be great to meet you and your partner.

Peace peeps

Who's the oldest stoner here?

Post by Knucklehead »

I turned 60 in February...been tokin' since 1967. I've seen the cannabis culture through a lot of phases. It's evolution is intensifying now, with the mmj victories and more general acceptance in the eye of the public. There will still be a lot of up & downs in the future. If any "Old Timers" are in A'dam the first week of July, I'd enjoy meeting up somewhere.

...Im sure some of you in this particular thread that survived the 60's/70's mentally will remember and love the    Freak Brothers comix
well this is all the issues printed in one huge fat book, ive just ordered a copy and its a bargain at £15.95.....

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Freak-Brothers- ... 433&sr=8-1

For those new to the Freak brothers comix, they were written for stoners in the 70s onwards , about three doped up hippies getting into various sorts of scrapes/mischief, funny and spot on, still very enjoyable, hasnt really dated IMO, highly recomended :) :)

Have to see if I can get there here in the states.
Have a few old copies in good shape that I have kept all these years, and as some of you know my Volcano is know as FatFreddy.
Am a big fan and I'm sure not the only one around here.
I seem to recall Puffin13 is real in to them also.
Thanks for link.

recently the omnibus edition of Fat Freddy's Cat was published and it, too, is a delight

Thanks Dave for the good wishes. I would love to go to 420 in the Dam but I avoid massive crowds like the plague. Besides, I just came back and it's a shlep to get there. I'll just have to have a little celebration of my own. To all who are going, have an awesome time.

BTW, I'm grateful for all that I have , I so appreciate how good I have it compared to most people on this planet. And I'm not talking about money or possessions. I'm not rich but I know my life is rich because of my wonderful family and friends. :D It's all about attitude!!!

The Furry Freak Brothers rule! Been into them for quite a few years (decades?). In fact, my beloved cat was named Freddy. And he was fat! I also appreciate R Crumb.

Thanks everyone for all the book info. I seem to have some birthday present money lying around.... Seems like a good cause....

Twitch, don't worry about the memory. You did remember it eventually. Everything in good time!

See! Your memory is not as bad as you think it is, Twitch. Yes, I have been collecting Freak Brothers comix and memorabilia for about 35 years now. The bros are too cool, even after all this time. The Freak Bros were iconic symbols of the counterculture of the 60's n 70's. I guess I'm still living in the past. Cause I still think they are great! :D

If you would like to see some of my Furry Freak Brothers collection, just click on the WWW in my message, at the bottom.

well from my point of view (63), you (43) are not, repeat not, old ...
Twitch wrote:If I win the " Oldest Smoker " what do I get ??
you (65 soon) are my (63) elder, you get my respect ...

imo age is partly attitude, partly body
