Yeh luvtick, back in the 60's I tried a few of the harder things doing the rounds. Not H or C mind you, but droped a few tabs of acid - never had a bad trip. The first one was a bit of a battle, but after that the trips use to make us laugh like crazy and see humour in the most futile things. But any young stoners reading this I would strongly advise not to take acid, it can really fuck you up. Back in those days, I had to talk a few friends down from very bad trips. One friend who use to be very outgoing, became very depressed for over a year after a bad trip.

And then there were purple hearts and dexes (amphetamines). They use to be 6d (2 and a half pence) each in those days. Kept you dancing an chatting all night, in fact 'chats' was one of the street names for them. I should also add that marijauna was £8 an ounce ($12) in 1966. It was mainly Pakistani black gold - very dreamy stuff that we use to score from the Jamaicans in Brixton near where I use to live.

Thanks for reminding me about the Freak brother comics. Have placed my order on ebay and shall now have some nice reading matter when I hit the Dam.

Reading this brought back some (hilarious) memories of the first time I saw the movie.
Anyone remember the paper that was inserted into the Big Bambu album? In 1974, when I was 13, I bought my first copy of the album. When I saw the paper, I knew I had to buy another copy and stash it away, which of course I did. Unfortunately, my ex threw away the album, along with my entire music collection. ':twisted:' ':x' ''

I remember that album very clearly, it was all the rage at the time. Who would of thought to save the paper, or even the album itself? I guess there where a few people, like yourself, that at least tried. I bet that album, in the original condition, is worth a lot of dough.
I was 18 when that album came out, the same year that I started smoking weed. Fire Sign Theater was also big at the time. That was Perfect comedy for "Stoners" of that era. Oh, those where glorious days!

I picked up a copy of that very album, minus the free paper for £3.50 a few years back. Was probably worth it, a little scratchy, but Im cool with it

Last night my husband threw an awesome party for me & 10 friends at my fav cajun place. (I thought Amsterdam was more than enough, he's a wonderful guy!).

Then we had an after dinner burn-out party at our house till the early morning hours. Yea and thanks to my mom & dad for watching their grandkids last night. Headache this morning.... Wake & bake & caffeinate took care of that...

Next weekend- another 50's bash. Live band in friend's backyard. Whoo-hoo!

Good job of keeping the paper in the album.
We actually used ours I'm afraid.
David Peel and the Lower East Side, , haven't heard that in awhile, very cool music.

49 yo vintage 1961 Brooklyn Bonehead

My uncle has a Big Bambu album w/ original paper. These albums are all over, but the paper is hard to find. Most folks bought it for the paper. It has a full length picture of Cheech and Chong on it. Wish they had a CD version paper. I'm a spry 37 BTW. I used to buy from a 76 year old guy when I was young. I remember asking him when and why weed got so expensive and he said "When they started throwin us in prison for it".
Good man, he would always try to sell me weird old bottles and stuff.
