Mellow Yellow
Hey!
My favorite coffeeshop in Amsterdam was Mellow Yellow. It is so comfy, and the music was great! (American classic rock --- which always gives me a trippy feeling) The bud menu was good, not the longest, but the quality of the bud was excellent!
We stayed in this one for about an hour, chilling on the great black couch on the second floor (only up a few steps to get to the second floor.)

These are the top 20 most popular shops according to the correspondence that I've received over the years.
Of course these are all in central Amsterdam where most tourists go. Just out of interest, the most popular shop in Amsterdam outside the centre is Katsu. Popular shops outside of Amsterdam include Kosbor (Maastricht), The Pink (Eindhoven) and Yanks (Zandvoort).

i've got to recommend hunter's bar, the dealer was really friendly, helped me out, eventhough they didn't have an chronic haze anymore... i got some orange bud, 'cause i had some friends there, who hadn't smoked before, but i also got a "harder" sativa, but i've forgotten the name (sadly, it was reall delicious)... i also had some white widow, it tasted really nice and made me sleep nice at night. i didn't sit down, didn't have a drink, or anything, but i saw the dealer on the street and he greeted me again in his friendly fashion. great place 2 go!

Homegrown Fantasy for me, there mellow Northern Lights and a smooth hot choclate is the first place i head to after getting off the plane....although Nes-Cafe comes a close second for a nice place to hang out with locals, watch some serious pool and wrap a fat one packed with there lovely Hindu Kush....Cheers Woody

I visited amsterdam in oct. 1989 I asked a local waitress where a non tourist coffeshop was. I wanted the real dutch vibe. Since it was my 1st visit.I was very excited, the nice lady asked me if I had a map. She made a circle on my map, and wrote TWEED KAMER. for which I will remeber forever, nice helpful staff, great smoke and hash. Hands down my favorite. Nicce cozy atmosphere.Lemming wrote:Thought I'd try this as an experiment.

I dunno which one to choose.
I think the best grass is in the Grey Area.
But you can't really camp there, it is too small. I supose if I had to compromise quality//comfort I would choose homegrown fantasy.
A few years back I would have say Barney, but I fell that not only the quality went down, but the price seems to have rocketed (Mind you same everywhere since the euro.....anyone remember of the price of an orange juice in the Noon when it was still Guilders???)

I will second what DB said. Probably my favorite shop with Umma Gumma, Grey Area, Anyday, HGF, and Rusland, each for different reasons entirely, close behind. Also I must throw in the Willie Wortel shops in Haarlem.Drugsbunny wrote:Found Amnesia CS on this trip and really enjoyed it.

John was cool when I was at Grey Area. He even let me post an image from the Wacky Packages from the 70's,as my bro and me collect these still. He was blown away seeing one of these after so long as a kid in the US. He said he would be proud to display it in the shop. So if you visit there. Look for the Windhex Image and ask John about it. He will tell you. Grey Area RULES!!!!!
Peace and 4:20 ! !
