I went to amnesia a little over a year ago and the place was quaint, helpful, and very chilled. Had a buddy come visit me a few months back and apparently the shop has benefitted from all the great reviews. The inside has been re-arranged and the shop is flooded with, well...people like me; non-natives. Unfortunately, the place has lost the aura which made it so special.
Maybe I'm different from most critics. I hold a shop's vibe and appearance more dear than their exotic strain of green (b/c honestly, these places all have good junk; some are just more expensive than others.)
Amnesia has a good location, too; in Amsterdam, but just outside the cuspice of tourism. This is one example of where the owner should have spent more on employees and self rather than building his establishment.
I'll see what it looks like during the Cup week.

I voted Floyd's
It was the first shop i called into on my first ever visit to the dam & i was impressed straight away. The interior is really nice, not flash by any means, but homely....its easy to feel comfortable in there. The food and drinks menu was very reasonable i thought & they do a mean ham n cheese toastie!! The dealer was Richard and he went out of his way to help me when i mentioned it was my first trip to amsterdam. He went right through his menu for me, made suggestions based on what i was after, gave me tips on places to see in the Dam, & generally made me feel welcome.
Even came over to check i was enjoying my smoke & was satisfied with everything. Top service
I was really happy with the mothers finest, top tits, and ummagumma. Good location, good prices, good music....what more do you want?
Hope Dampkring dont screw with a winning formula

Since Mellow Yellow wasnt on the list, the coffeeshop where I spend most of my tokin time, I voted for Amnesia. Amnesia is a nice, laid back shop with some consistent quality in the herb department. The staff are friendly and helpful. The seating is comfortable. The music is not too loud. The view is really nice from a couple of the window seats.

All in all a terrific shop. Highly recommended to Amsterdam visitors and locals alike. Peace.

I've not been over for about 18 months, but my favourite on the last trip was Amnesia. De Kuil was my first favourite, but it was also the first coffeeshop I visited, so I think it'll always be special to me <3 The Parvati Creme was constantly being smoked that trip.
I hope Amnesia will have retained a similar vibe when I go back in 2 months :/ I've only heard bad or disappointed comments about the decor since they updated it.
Anyways, Amnesia has comfy arsed seats, that awesome chess table (do you just have to ask for pieces? I've always been too shy to do that

) the outside seats, and as well as having high quality product in general, THOSE GODDAMN MILKSHAKES.
Has anyone tried a better milkshake in the dam? I've seen mention that other shops do decent ones (paradox iirc?) but I just loved Amnesia's. Was obsessing over the chocolate one the first time, last time I discovered the mocha one.

I voted for old church as I love the cosmopolitan atmosphere, also their prices were good and the staff were friendly,
bur I also am very fond of Baba's for the same reasons and they do really great muffins.
36 was the first we ever went to and we always make sure to pay a visit coz we love it but the staff are not the friendliest.
Going a little way out Rokerijj 111 was the friendliest place yet, with really friendly staff. The dealer chatted to us a lot and was only too eager to show us his wares and told us about Queens day (so we are taking him at his word and coming this year. Their muffins carry a warning saying "THIS MUFFIN CAN SERIOUSLY ENHANCE YOUR DAY" it did just that and was the tastiest too.
Route 99 with its fluorescent murals is a must visit too always chill in there for a while , good prerolled too.
When I first looked at the ACD site I thought that the only shops were the ones on the map, I was delighted to find many more. I understand why they can't list them all on the poll but I'd like to see them on the map. I was pleased to see a few more have made it to the map since we were last there

There's a reason why the Grey Area is TOPS IN MY BOOK...The Grass and the owner Jon, what a fantastic person, I spent more time here than any other coffeeshop.
2nd favorite would have to be Homegrown Fantasy due to their selection and the fact that they have 4 Volcano baloons so there's no waiting, and they have HUGE bags on them. Tommy the owners son is a cool cat. Enjoy.
3rd but really a tie for 2nd would have to be de Dampkring, met the manager on duty and he hooked us up with some of the top of the line Amnesia Haze they hadn't put out for sale yet, it was mind boggling. Me and my buddies me the hippest cats from Scottland and we closed the place sitting at the same table from Oceans 12.

My favourite coffeeshop for quality grass is probably barneys, try the Willie Nelson or NY diesel, bit pricey compared to other shops, but its quality bud.
The Grey area has some great quality grass, but i dont like the cramped feeling, and hard seats, tend to just "buy and go" in this coffeeshop, chocoloupe is well worth a purchase, and the grey mist crystals are legendary.
Take a trip out to Haarlem , willie wortels is great, or Leiden, there is a coffeeshop called the Double A, 5 grams of Shiva for 26 euros, a good all round purchase, although it does not open till 4pm!
The bottom line is Its all about experimenting till you find whats right for you!!
