Nestaman wrote:a shame cs "Easy Times" isnt listed .... I think it's a great place not too much bothered about "style" or "deco" but gives you a very relaxed feeling though ...
I mean as a reggae lover of course I got very happy not only cause of the smoke but the excellent reggae tunes too (and have to say they did very good, non "commercial" reggae)
RESPECT !
Yes, I like it too and one of the waitresses there taught me to knit! Last time I went, it was closed for alterations. The bar staff are really nice, but the owner's a bit alarming, very cold. I think he owns the one two doors down, as well, a very different kind of place. One reason I like Easy Times, though, is that it's usually so quiet and it's on the canal, so you can sit there peacefully or outside, watching the water. In the Tweede Kamer, I always feel squashed and usually kind of shy and ill at ease - everyone likes it and the herb is excellent, but I don't feel happy there.

I was quite torn with this one as I love to hang out in Amnesia, but the music and weed quality(especially so close to the centre of town!) in De Kuil swung it for me!

Now if they could only put the comfy seating from Amnesia in De Kuil... Perfection! :D

Best Coffee shop

Post by Magic Pixie »

My favourite "coffieshop" in Amsterdam is of course one of the (if not the) most senior. It goes by the name of the 36.. the bud there is half the price of some of the more trendier places and is excellent quality in my own addled opinion. There are these huge french windows at the end
which open out directly over the canal in fact it is just like being outside without actually having to go to the trouble of being there.
Unfortunatly there is one downside in my opinion and that is the music that they play at present. It is that dreadfull house music or techno ,or speed garage, or whatever it is being marketed as at the moment. It is for this reason that I never outstay my welcome. The owner is an original Dutch flower child and is very easy to talk to/at I once called by broke at the end of a holiday to say tarra and she told the staff to give me a gramm of skunk grattis and also a few free coffies! #36? Klaar auf jeden fall du!!

Keep it going Toke with a bit of effort we can surely raise the lowly poll status of my "wannabe" girlfriend's place to astronomical heights..
Esuring mountains and mountains, of free Skunk for life and thereafter.. I have a dream!!

i have vote for the Noon... (the 1st vote) 8)

go there at every visit to Dam (4 times) and always like the atmosphere here... really local, people don't care about you, and always had a friendly budtender... weed is really good, large selection of tea, and prices are cheap...

would definitively be my favorite shop in Dam... :D

Hmmm... I voted for Dampkring - which I do love, great menu and prices, very friendly staff and I love the atmosphere! Sat in there reading in the dim light, chatting to people for days on end and I do love it. However, I think i've changed my mind - Amnesia is my favourite place. Value for money wise perhaps it isn't as good but I just really love the place- nice little seating area and it is so relaxing smoking a joint right next to the canal. It also has great staff and very nice weed.

Plus when this God damn tobacco ban come in this Monday I will still be able to enjoy my joint, my way outside Amnesia but not at Dampkring- that may swing it also.

Yeah - you don't get too many annoying people there. I wouldn't recommend Grey Area if you can't be bothered with Americans
