Titus--sorry to go off topic but that avatar pic of yours freaks me out man

Looks like a pictorial representation of Edvard Munch's '' The Scream ''

This is possibly how one feels when you have taken too many hits from a pipe of strong hash

And remember--just because you're not paranoid dosent mean that they are not out to get you

So do you all consider panic attacks "paranoia"? Because I don't really feel paranoid when I get panic attacks from smoking. I'm trying to decide if this suggestion would work for me. Usually I like having a beer on hand when I smoke something new. It seems to calm me down if things start getting weird, but I know there's not a lot of places that I can smoke and drink so I'm hoping this will work on my next trip to the Dam.

If you're having panic attacks and/or serious problems with paranoia when you smoke, maybe you should lay off the weed. You gotta decide if the positives of smoking outweigh the negatives.

If you're gonna smoke, smoke with and around people you know, in a place you're comfortable with.

Try to avoid smoking alone.
Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly?

Kill everyone in the immediate vicinity who looks the least bit suspicious. Then kill those who don't look suspicious. (You can never be too safe  ) :D

OR put on a tinfoil hat to stop the gxrgkzs from planting thoughts in your head.

Your call.

Stay close to those with the tin foil hats and avoid every one else, carry a candy bar but don't use it, trans fat could be deadly
seriously, if the use of marijuana causes paranoid or panic attacks, theirs is good advice in this thread. Hope you overcome. I believe that prohibition causes that feeling, and you are safe in Amsterdam.

stick to the hash, the afghans & morocans say that 'smoking raw cannabis (weed) not only makes the lungs sick but also the mind'

I've been smoking for 40 years and there are some sativas, hazes, that bring on those paranoid feelings in me quite often.

I still smoke them because i enjoy the "up" efffecttt i get from them.

I deal with the paranoia and panic by remembering in the middle of an attack that it was just the weed, man, hazes will do that. Repeat like a mantra for a few minutes. It's just the weed, it's just the weed. Now smile, come on, a big smile. There, the demon is leaving.

Just rememebering a friend telling me this is now enuf to bring the panic level down to managable levels pretty fast.

Try a nice indica or good hasj your fast day in town. Treat yourself to something good and hang out with the mellow folk.

Thank you all so much for yoru advice! I felt silly asking but glad i have now:)

When i think about it, it is usually when i smoke weed not hash. Maybe i will stick to hash and indicas if smoking alone.

As i said, it doesnt happen that often, but when it does its not nice. I like the self mantra........its just the weed, its just the weed:)

Thank you ...i also have my candy bar an dsilver foil hat , just incase
Making every day count.....................

No, I consider a panic attack and paranoia two completely seperate things. As John Lennon says: Paranoia is the highest form of awareness. A panic attack is a step further. By all means have a beer if it calms you down. Drugs affect people differently. But mixing the two can have adverse affects also.

Thanks for all the great advice. Fortunately, I don't get attacks too often and definitely not enough to give up weed entirely. I did quit cold turkey for about 8 years because I thought the attacks were from weed, but I learned I still get them occasionally. I agree with Chowderbone and I think that the sativas trigger them for me, too.

When I was a regular, daily smoker I never had any problems with paranoia or panic attacks with weed. However, after taking a decade+ break from smoking, I do feel a tinge of not really, paranoia, but a sense of unease on occasion. Like the other have mentioned, just tell yourself that you are stoned and that the feeling will fade with a bit of time.
