Perhaps I shouldn't have scraped all the sticky residue off my grinder ('bout a gram and a half, I'd say) and slapped it into the middle of an already fat cone, and then caned the lot in about five minutes flat...
On a more serious note - while I can temporarily maintain this level of sanity - you'll be just fine. Do the obvious things like not showing it off in public places where you can perhaps already spot one or two "shady" ppl hanging around, and take it wherever you go.
It only takes a couple of seconds for some scumbag to spoil your whole day, and if you cut down the risk by just not making it available to them, then job done. I don't even leave things in my hotel room (unless it has a safe) that I wouldn't like to lose!
Out on the streets, well... There's usually a pretty good police presence around the centrum, so if you
do feel that you're maybe being followed around by some scuzzball or set up for a snatch & grab, then just walk straight up to the nearest uniform you see and start talking to them and point in their direction - you could just be asking directions, but you can bet the low-life will be quite keen on making a sharp exit, either way.
Or... you could use your ninja skills to take 'em out.. you know, lead 'em down a small alley with the tourist map on full display, screaming
TARGET at them... Then pounce! Hai-yah!
... Or growl. Growling's good...
(Here endeth the lucidity... oh yes... I think I shall retire to somewhere a little comfier than this PC chair now and have a good gibber...)
