Apologies beforehand, as I have no time right now to scan through this thread and read up but wanted to post in hopes of getting a response from some of you folks overseas before you hit the hay for the night......

Any new updates on the flight situation?

Scheduled to be flying out of JFK in New York tomorrow @ 6:30PM and arriving in AMS on Saturday @ 8AM and wondering what it's sounding like?

Will check back on the board in a few hours to read up on this thread and everything else related. Thanks for any info or help fellow stoners!

latest news from bbc at 22.30 BST is that all U.K. airports and most in northern Europe closed until 13.00 tomorrow. There will be an update at 02.30 BST on the 16th. Maybe some flights from USA to Scotland and between N.Ireland and Scotland tomorrow. Keep watching those news site links shown here for the update.

We can only live in hope.

my KLM flight from Liverpool tomorrow has been cancelled. Looks like a bump on the road. Will try and get on a later flight but not looking good. Last time I ever use priceline bidding! My hotel is already paid for - what a waste.

This was took off the Schiphols website:
Update 19:30 Serious disruption of air traffic to and from the Netherlands

Air traffic to and from the Netherlands will be gradually halted in the next few hours. Current expectations are that air traffic to and from the Netherlands will come to a complete standstill after 19.00 hours this evening, as a result of a cloud of volcanic ash caused by a volcanic eruption on Iceland.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and the airlines are asking passengers to stay tuned for further developments and contact their airline before leaving for the airport, to verify that their flight is still scheduled to depart.

In cooperation with KPN Internet is free of charge at the airport until tomorrowmorning.
