Going to Amsterdam for twelve hours on May 22, 2010

Post by stoner »

So, I have smoked weed for over 10 years now and have always wanted to go to Amsterdam. I am going to London for two weeks. I have one free day and I am using it to pay homage to the marijuana mecca of the world. I will be taking a dutch flyer rail and sail Harwich to Hook of Holland and then a train to Amsterdam with 6-8 of my friends.

I would just like to thank the members of this site for helping me to decide which coffeeshops to visit. As a matter of fact I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't stumble across this treasure trove of information before they go to the dam.

I have planned what I think I am going to do... I am always going to ask for a tender reccomendation but I have an idea of what I want to smoke.

1. Off the train at Central Station and look around for bike rentals (if anyone knows of a good rental company please let me know)

2. Coffeeshop Rokerij for a gram of sour diesel (I was lucky enough to come across some of this recently and it was one of the best weeds I ever smoked)

3. Barney's Coffeeshop for a gram of sweet tooth (grew out Spice of Life's version and ended up with all males)

4. Amnesia to look at the whole menu but i am really looking for the Amnesia Lemon

5. Go around Dam Square to see the Dam Palace and the National Monument.

6. Kadinsky for Trans Himalayan Hash

7. De Kuil for Blue Kush and have a look at the Blueberry going to look at some hash here also.

8. Walk past Old Church and head into the Red Light District to walk all the main streets

9. Stop in at Green Place Coffeeshop to check out the Blueberry Cheese USBL and Luvtick were raving about. Also I have been smoking some OG Kush lately so I will check that out to. I can also vaguely remembering a hash being recommended so I will have a look also

10. Walk around New Market Then head over to Stix for the Bubblegum Boner said was decent

11. Next stop Bluebird for mexi ice and I think the dhaula girl

12. Next stop Basjoe for the Bas Special a hash and hopefully some of the LA Confidential that is new on the menu. Might stop in Bagheera to look at their goods.

13. Head out to Mellow Yellow to look at blueberry and the s5's maybe some 7 1/2

14. Club Media for some of the Hindu Kush as I hear that it is an actual landrace kush and a look at the hash.

15. Albert Cuyp Market

16. Katsu to have a look at their weed and hash selections

These are my tentative plans... Am I completely crazy or does this sound like something that can be done in about 12 hours? Is there anything I left out? Any comments and or criticism is welcome. I plan on posting a full report with pictures when I make it home.

Looks good to me except for the sequence.

You will be doing back tracking to much.

Use this map for most of Amsterdam.

And this one for Albert Cuyp

To do it all in 12 hours you will want to figure out your route on maps
ahead of time.

First timers get my S G Collins recommendation
I think a read of this will maximize your efficiency once you get there.

How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.

Enjoy

Looks like you will have plenty to do over the 12 hours you will be in town.
I have done many of these types of trips to Amsterdam, with this past Thursday being the latest. I wish I had 12 hours, but I made due with three, no thanks in part to faulty trains. Spent my entire time at Basjoe's.
When I float '8)' around Amsterdam, I begin my journey from Centraal Station and make a stop at either the Rokerij II or the Dampkring (formerly Pink Floyd), burn a gram, and then walk along one of the four inner canals. When I want a little pick-me-up, I stop at the next shop.
Works most of the time. Sometimes I crash and burn, vegging out in Vogel Park or on some bench along a canal.
Have fun.
Peace.
