Meeting up earlier on the 30th is fine with me. We can set plans later but I should be able to meet by 2pm or anytime after. Hell, I may have my first smoke of the trip with you if we meet that early as I will just be getting into town around noon. Since I will have two weeks stretched out before me and you will need to depart the next day, we can meet at your convenience as far as I'm concerned.

I think that aside from my hash education, the theme of my trip will be to mainly explore the hazes and sativa-dominants with taste and smell being more important to me than potency. I'll probably start off with some Thai or Jamaican - whatever looks/smells the nicest - and then move on to the stronger stuff (I will make an exception to smoke some hash with you though should we meet - f*ck the "training wheels".) Having said this I also want to try that OG Kush as some say it is similar to the Kushes that seem to be all the rage out in CA from what I have read. This will be strictly late night stuff, probably back at the apartment as I think it will make me pleasantly catatonic (that whole "beyond help socially" thing you mentioned)[/quote]

I get in about 10:00 on the 30th also,so a T&T round about 2/3 ish somewhere would be 8) ...
I've always been a Hash Freak and recently been getting into the Nepalese, more so than others...so Spacey and Trippy...the mind wanders off on its own to... wherever...and talking Haze,i found the NTB from Stix to blend perfectly with their Amnesia Haze... :) Just right for bedtime...

Sounds good Dark Globe; it'd be great to meet you. Had some Amnesia Haze on the last trip; from what I remember I thought it was pretty good. Also liked the SSH from MY I had on the first trip as well as the one (SSH) I got from the 420 Cafe. I realize this comes down to one's opinion and frame of reference but what strain in the dam have you found to best represent what you think of when you think haze in terms of smell, taste and effect. I am trying to sort out exactly what people mean when the use phrases like hazy (smell/taste/etc.) Like many I imagine it is for others, I just always bought what my supplier had. It never had a name, just a price. Anyway, glad to hear that you will be around and are interested in a meet-up on the 30th.

Perhaps I could have figured this out from your choice of forum name but it seems that you are partial to the Nepalese hashes. ...........
As we get closer to our respective "magic days" we should plan a meet-up somewhere on the 30th. I see that there are several others in town then including Kermit for his birthday! I have never met any of these folks so I'd be great to do that. Thanks again for sharing your "knowledge of the solids" with me. Let's keep hoping that the volcano gods smile upon us :)
Dont mention the bloody volcano
I will implode if my flight is delayed...

On the nepalese, its a love affair going back to my travels there. Plus I think its the cleanest and most satisfying hit (for me) without a ceiling if you get the right stuff. From recent postings the 'mexican ice' from Bluebird does indeed looks like its the nuts, its also on my sub-cherry list too. In fact to be really sad about this I will cut and paste my ideal shopping list later if I get a chance and you can see what Im heading towards. As always it never goes to plan which is cool, but there are certain things/places I need to see for my own sanity because they get talked about so much ( eg. basjoes, Hunters, Stix temple ball (and Hunters and anydays Templeball and coffeeshops), some of the heavy indicas - headband/medicinal leaf, og kush from Greenplace etc, all untried by lill ol me :) )
@ templeball , having read your previous posts i won't even begin to question your obvious hash no-how , just wanted to say , Mexcan Ice -a must - can't speak for Bluebirds but the g I got from Rokerij IV was outstanding. also imo , well worth a try , Trans Himilayan from Kadinsky & Hunters Nepal , 2 very nice smokes .
Heavy indica's - GA's 4077 & Amnesia's NightShade , yum yum , very nice before a sleep :)
Whatever you end up getting , have good 1 mate :)
Sending out the good vibes to those that need them right now :-)

I've been to Basjoe's and Hunters; both are cool shops. At Hunters I just stopped in for a drink and a quick smoke while waiting for the Canal bus. I was flush with weed at the time (more than I could finish during the trip actually,) so I didn't buy anything there. I hear great things about their weed though and have a note to try their 100% sativa but you know how plans go. I am never too disappointed when my Amsterdam plans don't quite pan out either as I so thoroughly enjoy making them. My trip is more than a month away but I have been enjoying it ever since I started planning :)

................:
Hi Blueridge and hi also to darkglobe..Im counting the days like a kid and already boring the arse of workmates and friends about it...I cant wait...I may have mentioned this before elsewhere so sorry if its a familiar tale but when I had my 40th birthday trip there with some mates four years ago, after arriving at the apartment and decamping, everyone was happy to follow me to Bluebird for the first smoke/purchase of the trip. As soon as I sighted the c/s I couldnt help myself I was so excited to be so close to heaven and started to run towards it, like the bit in Avatar when he first realises he can run in the creatures body etc, apparently it looked a bit pathetic...they ripped into me for this for days about this but it was completely spontaneous....then because I had worked myself up so much with anticipation nothing that I was smoking was quite getting through, to my horror, and then it did, and thats when i had my whitey going down the spiral staircase having smoked three in a row..lesson learnt :)

Thanks for being so flexible on meeting up, much appreciated, we will have a great session Im sure, dont worry we can all take it moderately, no need to donate your brain to science that early...he he

De Graal is not the easiest to find but is big enough to have seats free when you get there and as thats where I got the most beautiful and clear uplifting pollen of the whole trip last year that might be a good location to start, but feel free to suggest whatever you guys wanna start off with. The great thing about that area is just round the corner within 5 minutes walk or 10 minutes staggering  is Katsu with their wide hash menu...personally I prefer this sector as its a lot more laid back than the Red light District and its a lot less touristy, more locals than us lot in fact which is no bad thing..

On the Thai/jamaican ive been tracking for weeks now all the posted reports and its really only down to Anyday at the moment having anything that is close to proper hi grade jamaican and possibly Katsu's (which I would probably have tried both by the time you arrive so happy to pass on an a rating by then ), from what I can see...

Darkglobe - like the idea of the amnesia haze and the TB mix, could be righteous...

So long to wait it seems, so very long, time is going soooooo slooooowly..

Hey TB,

The story about you running toward the Bluebird shop does sound vaguely familiar - probably from a trip report as I tend to read nearly all of those. I can just imagine the type of abuse you must have taken over that from your friends.

I was hoping you would be up for De Graal and I couldn't agree more regarding De Pijp. Katsu was my first shop ever and their Super Jamaican was my first smoke there. I have a note somewhere regarding Anyday as a good choice for imported strains; hopefully I get there at some point to sample some. Just today I was reading through the coffeeshop review forum to see what people had to say and lo and behold Dark Globe posted a great photo of the interior. It looks as good as everyone has said and would be a great place to meet-up.

I'm starting to get more excited about my up coming trip as well. I have some out-of-town excursions planned - an overnight in Den Hague to see the Escher exhibit and hopefully Marithuis with a peek at Schevingen and hopefully an afternoon or so in Delft as I am also a Vermeer fan. I'm also going to do another overnight in De Koog on Texel - I'll probably regret not spending more time there as I love the beach. I can't wait but for now I find the planning and obsessing gets me through the days nicely. It's so good to have something to look forward to - I always try to have something on the horizon.

aha, interesting info on media, never been in, put that on our little c/s crawl list for De Pip maybe, very happy to be led to a Pot of Gold :D :D

So far then we have a potential crawl from de graal to katsu to media..or whatever, sounds good... :)

..Anyday is a c/s that all of a sudden seems to be cropping up on peoples reports and reccomendations, then someone found some decent jamaican there very recently, so with that and their other goodies Im going to make a point of visiting if at all humanly possible during our stay..

nederhash was lovely but not my fav, i thought it was amazing for the price, 10e = 1.4g thats why i kept banging on about it  , the best hash i bought from a cs was caramello/tbizla (same hash different name depending which shop) from the tweede/dampkring chain
