Giving out your CC details to reserve a hotel booking

Post by bavlondon »

I am looking around for a hotel for when I go over in May and I have found one but they want my credit card information. I know this is normal but they also say they want the 3 digit security code on the back? Should they be asking for this too or is the credit card number, name and start/expiry dates sufficient?

Thanks

Pretty normal practise nowadays, the code is just so they can take the payment if you dont turn up, they need it due to the credit card fraud.

I would be a bit sceptical if i were you, i booked a hotel in the same way but no sec code was asked for.

on the other hand they only ask for these details to cover for "no shows".

maybe look through another hotel booking site.

take it easy :)

Seems fine, I never email this info. Fax or phone.

Thanks all.

In the end that hotel was full so I had to go with the corner house. I gave them my CC number, name and expiry date but thats all they asked for. Reservation complete. :D

Normal.

When you book online, you enter CC information, including the 3 digit security number on back.

The only difference is that you are telling it over the phone. Same goal accomplished.

Have no worries...
