thanx for the re-assurance, i just had visions of having to walk all the way thru vondel park everytime, no fun after too much excess, only fun when in the mood. Luckily the apartment we are hiring has bike storage too apparently so im gonna hire the bike as well. My girlfriend is shitting herself after seeing all the near misses we had even when we were on foot. Its gonna be a riot...spliffing as I go, making her even more anxious of imminent death no doubt. I suggested a tandem

if you haven't done so already, then i recommend that you both read How not to get hit by a bike from the excellent S G Collins website recommended by FlyByNite

have a safe journey ...

Be careful...I do not recommend a tandem and no smoking while riding. Really, try to take a 30 min break between smoking and riding.

TB...Tweedy didnt have the Nep in December, last time i was there...but i'll be looking at end of May (see you then)...They always have a good quality White Widow at €8 per gm anyway...but,like AP said, its not a very welcoming place for non locals and their coffee machine /kettle never seems to work...no Loozas, just cans of fizzy pop...and loads of bars of chocolate...(i wonder why  )

TBH i can see myself buying and flying from Tweedy if they do have temple ball on the way to or from the apartment, im more keen to see media now after you mentioned it. If you dont miond to can you tell me more about the Pot of Honey (was it called that?) from media, is it a type of caramello, and have you ever tried mellow yellow's size 7 1/2 to compare it with?

If yer headin for the pijp and media, i'd go with a lil stop into de graal. Come out with 5 different hash samples and yer wallet is only 25e lighter. Result.

tweedy's is definitely a local place...I usually stay near vondelpark and tweedy's is a change from the tourist traps downtown...same menu most of the time and the folks are nice, even if they are not too accepting of outsiders...for your info, I have walked back through the park at 1:30 in the morning...never a problem...tram 1 on the overtoom side of the park and tram 2 on the otherside will take you into centrum...have a great stay...

many thanks for that, I had terrors about the idea of having to stagger thru the park each and every time a bud/hash search was required, fun once or twice but not every time, id like to think I wont be capable
