pre-rolled joints

Post by bridget »

How strong are these? I am pretty new to all this and usually just have some cake and bon bons and I'm off my tits on those alone! Now are the pre-rolled really strong or should I try something cheap - I am thinking cheaper is less strong? I don't roll up so I haven't a clue what to do - I know, call me what you will... I'm embarrassed too

So do I buy myself a little pipe or just buy a pre-rolled?

Thanks guys n gals x

Pipe and vape!

Pre rolls suck, but if you cant roll you can buy ready made cones that you fill with weed so you dont have to roll. They are in most gift shops and head shops. Easy to do and no rolling needed.

Enjoy 8)

Thats really difficult to answer, are you a tobacco smoker? if so a pre-roll would be alright to try smoking weed but if you're a non tobacco smoker I wouldn't recommend a pure pre-roll as you're just asking for trouble, no offence to Kermit but I wouldn't recommend a newbie to toking to try a vape either as you cant really judge how much you're taking, a small pipe for small hits imo would be your best bet, just a small bit (say the size of a pea) would probably be all you'd need, just make sure you have something sugary at hand to eat/drink if you start feeling a bit unwell (not a spacecake ;) ) and dont try mixing weed with booze either.

I would second Boners advice. Although if you have eaten it in a cake before maybe a little vape wouldn't be so bad but maybe after building a bit of a tolerance with the pipe first??

Volcano chambers are adjustable and can hold as little or much as you please. Go to a shop that lets you fill your own chamber up like barneys and you will have no probs. My missus does vapes and she is a proper lightweigh
Also a vape stone is IMO pretty mellow or as mentioned in another thread more of a background (Relaxing) stone. 8)

I would have to agree about the mellowness of the vape to the point that I would indeed recommend it to a first-timer over a pure spliff......though boner's pipe advice is not bad at all due to the ability to use small amounts.

Also a good eating experience is probably more intense than either smoking or vaping in my experience so if one is experienced at eating I would not be worried about smoking/vaping tbh providing (as always) you do not go overboard.

Thanks for the replies.

Last time we had hash muffin and bon bons from abraxas. My boyfriend and I shared these and we were monged out for hours  We couldn't walk, talk or basically do anything.. to be honest it wasn't a great experience. . I would ideally like a happy high! What do I try - some laughing buddha? :?

I am so confused about the whole thing but I definitely want to try something - I don't want to go all that way just to drink beer in Europub :x

No, neither of us smoke tobacco either... we are a couple of pussies! Be gentle with us :D

vape or pipe up some laughing buddha!! :D problem solved!!

(get it from Rokerij - best prices for the sativa pheno apparently)

like i say i think a "good" eating experience is far more intense than smoking or vaping so don't worry so much. if you don't do tobacco a pipe or vape is ideal.

Trust me Bridget, you'll pick up the hang of rolling in no time...

I don't smoke tobacco, never have and never will, so my very first experience was eating hash on its own, then I discovered bottle bongs / buckets or whatever my mates used to call them...

The first weed I used to get was so dry and sticky (i.e. made up mainly of sticks...) that it was very difficult to roll it up pure, so a bong or pipe of some description would do the trick. Then I discovered Sensimilla from a proper grower I knew from the studio and it was so much easier to put into spliffs than anything I had ever had before. Result.

First visit to Amsterdam, after struggling to put a very poor attempt at a cone together, I bought a pre-rolled - pure supposedly - and nearly coughed up a lung when I found it to contain probably more tobacco than a normal cigarette!

Practice makes perfect though, and over the years I got pretty good at it, as you will. Don't be embarrassed to ask someone to give you a helping hand - most budtenders worth their salt will happily roll one together for you in no time at all, and I dare say most of the punters in there would also gladly lend a hand too... 8)

As far as hitting a pure spliff goes - if you're worried about "too much, too soon" and throwing a whitey, then just take a few pulls and relax. Wait for a while. Have a drink. See how you feel and if you're happy after 10-20 minutes, try a bit more. You don't have to compete with the hard heads chuffing bongs like there's no tomorrow!

Relax and have a good time - try and build a few spliffs - I find that if the weed is ground up properly - not too rough, but not turned to dust, either, then the whole thing goes a lot smoother, but if it looks like a bad one - grab another paper and try it again. Remember - if you can smoke it - it's a good 'un!

Some excellent, down to earth advice from DaveS.
I prefer pipes and bongs over bowls, so my added 1/10th of a cent (play on 2 cents worth of opinion) is to try some mild gear, say LA Confidential from Basjoes. Grind a gram (like DaveS explained) and fill a bowl (typical gift shop pipe bowl holds 2-4 hits).
Take a hit, sit back for a few and relax, as DaveS suggests. I liken this to wine tasting, in which it has more to do with enjoying the complexities of the wine (along with a slight buzz) rather than getting shit faced. Taking your time can also enable you to understand the nuances of the type of gear you are smoking: Sativa vs Indica (High vs Stoned); various flavors and tones (citrus, flower, earthiness), and so on.
Also, you can read the strain reports and when you find yourself smoking a particular strain you read about, compare their description to what you are experiencing. I found this method helpful when I go on wine tasting trips as well.
Enjoy your experiences.
Peace.

Hey Bridget,

Excuse the late reply. If you and yer bf were monged out by space cakes, I would definitely skip the prerolleds as they're likely to be too strong. Taking into account some the of the worthy replies you've already received, I would find some shop that has (i) a vaporizer and (ii) one of the following three strains: Thai, Jamaican, or Orange Bud. This strategy offers you 2 advantages: an less potent strain to start with and the ease of a vaporizer, which renders harsh smoke into steam vapor, making it easier for non-smokers.

As far as I know you can use a Verdamper Vaporizer and obtain either Thai or Jamaican at the Anyday Coffeeshop on Spuistraat. The Verdamper is a bit trickier to use but the budtender should be able to sort you out. Personally, I like Coffeeshop Anyday, but the ambiance is a bit spartan compared to some of the plusher shops on Harlemmerstraat.

Orange Bud and the use of a volcano vaporizer is also available at Homegrown Fantasy, a personal favorite of mine. That particular establishment is brightly-lit and airy, located near Dam Square, and doubles as an exhibition space for local artists. With the exception of one particular lady, I've always found the staff to be quite friendly and meticulous in their attention to customer service. Be sure to visit the unique bathroom and to order one of the excellent hot chocomels with whipped cream.

If any of the above strains should be unavailable, ask the budtender for a recommendation.

Hope this helps you and yer bf get off to a good start.
Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
