Another thread got me thinking ..... i know a dangerous thing
What are you favorite not so popular coffee shops ? We all read about the top 25 ones that are popular but how about some little ones or ones a bit out of the way ....
Please indicate -
- name and address (if you have it ) of cs
- why you like - weed, decor, location.. whatever
- maybe some other things to see or do around coffee shop
Thanks -- can't wait for my first trip looking forward to your responses

hoping to explore Dam fully

I like Tweedy, Vondelstraat 164, next to the Vonelkerk on the northwest corner of Vondel Parkl. It is a friendly local shop with a pool table and good gear. I think it still closes at Midnight. It was my late night Headquarters when I stayed in that area 5 years ago. I highly recommend it if you are in the Vondel Park area. It does have varying opening times though. I think it is supposed to be open at 1200, I have found them to be closed around that time a few times, however.

Ramshackle joint that looks like someone's 70's basement remade into a coffeeshop. Friendly local vibe. Spectacular array of weed and hash. Con: preweighed bags.

Sleepy cs smack dab in da middle of de Jordaan. Bright interrior. Jovial budtender. 5E weed/hash deals so you can order a flight. Duck into Cafe Chris down the street for a Westmalle Tripel. Con: lack of comfortable seating.

Gorgeous location on the Brouwersgracht flooded with natural light. Wandering fortune tellers who give free readings. Live performances and chess tourneys at night. Con: not known for their weed menu.

I like Papillon also. Nice chilled vibe, located in a beautiful square. Some decent herb too. Worth the trip, imo.

Well worth the trip, we stopped in Resin 1st when I last visited 'Dam in February, it was about 1030am, and the budtender suggested it was definitely a place to visit prior to checking in the hotel - Boerejongens has the best menu in town in his opinion. Usually they have around 20 weed strains on the menu at opening time (& several hashes), some of which sell out very quickly (White Choco, Sanguna, S5 Juice for instance). Better value than Dampkring with arguably a lot more interesting strains that appear from time to time on the menu. They also gave me an 9E discount on an 89 Euro order, 2 packs of Futurolas & despite the queue behind me, the budtenders were totally happy to let me & the mrs examine quite a few strains before buying.
On the downside, no smoking inside, though you can roll & there are benches outside. I recommend you pay a visit (try to get there before noon) if venturing West, it hardly takes long on the tram (Postjesweg/De Withestraat stop) from anywhere in the city, anyone who thinks it does doesn't know the true meaning of daily commuting!
I can also vouch for De Graal - Epsilon knows what he's talking about - my favourite cs to hang out, in De Pijp, my favourite part of the city.

THanks - we will
thinking about planning one thing a day to do - then spend rest of day just seeing where day takes us
we are staying by central station so I figure easy to get home from anywhere all we have to ask is "where is train station"
