I'd have to go back one more time to find out if my love for the place is real or just a side affect of the great weed, but I imagine that I would not visit regularly.

Edit : I guess you can count this as a "No".

No. Like the first guy that posted said, "it's too costly". I'm going on my 5th trip there in July, but I've yet to buy a ticket. I've been going on frequent flyer miles....this ticket used up my "bank" of miles, so it's quite likely I won't be back any time soon. gotta make this most of this trip. I'm staying in de Pijp, so it will be different from the other times. Twice I stayed in Haarlem and love it, but being a much smaller city, I've kind of worn it out. I do intend to spend a little time there, though. Thee Huis and Regine are my favorites there.

tbh for me its a no, there is one reason i go to Amsterdam and one reason only. I can smoke all i want here in dublin but have to look over my shoulder all the time to make sure the fuzz are not about, Amsterdam is about sitting and enjoying a good splif with out the worry.

Jamaica would be my next port of call if the coffee shops were to close

I've always maintained there is much more to Amsterdam than weed, but I've been there twice now and although I love the history and culture of the city I doubt I would go just for that.

I'd probably start going to Jamaica. Ridiculously cheap ganja and RT flights from PDX for around $500 with a beachside bungalow for around the same or less during the offseason.

All you need to do is carry a couple of Benjamins ($100 bills) and you'd never see the inside of a jail cell!

Pretty much anyone at your hotel (security guards included) can get you massive quantities of bud. From what I understand it's typically sold according to size rather than weight.

Will be my next trip!

you would make me very happy if you could something like a trip report with some pics of the buds and your experiences? thinking about going there in the future :)

Will do. Just not sure when I can go. I get 2 weeks vacation per year and I just used it to go to Amsterdam this past March so it probably won't be until March 2011!

I say yes, as well. It is such a great city to explore and to just "chill". And, it would probably be pretty easy to score, even if coffee Shops aren't selling it. I really don't see that happening, though. I think it would be to much of an economic blow for the Country if they stopped allowing Cannabis to be sold, especially right now.

Well since i've been going to A'Dam since the late 70's i've pretty much seen it or done it and the cost is crazy for us Yanks. Down to Jamaica and its almost impossible to get arrested unless you fire up in front of a the law and if you happen to a few bills, you'll get off right on the spot. I have several friends there and they hook me up with the best and stay in very nice places a lot cheaper than A'Dam anytime of the year. Only a hours flight for me. :)
Pass the peace pipe.

Hey Dazed! Nice to see yer back. Hope you had a fab time in Mokum. Any chance you'll be recounting yer adventures? Or is it one giant blur?
