What's your favourite smoking environment?

Post by Cudi_420 »

I've recently moved into an apartment (I used to rent a large house with a few guys when I was in university) so my smoking habits have had to change quite a bit. For one, I own the apartment, so I'm not keen on smoking inside - I'm a bit of a clean freak. Secondly, I live with my sister and she HATES pot, so I try to compromise and smoke when she isn't home, as long as she doesn't watch her shows (So You Think You Can Dance, The Bachelor, The Hills etc. etc.) while I'm at home.

Thankfully, my apartment has a VERY large balcony that goes around my apartment 90 degrees.

It's coming into winter down under now, so it's getting very cold (by Australian standards, anyway). I'd have to say that I enjoy smoking pot in winter more than I do in summer. Maybe it's the heat I don't like.

Anyway, I think I may have found the perfect smoking environment for myself.

I get my table and chairs and put it right underneath the light. I grab my portable gas heater, put it on low heat, and place it about 10 meters away from me, so I'm not overwhelmed by the heat, but I can still feel a slight chill. I cut myself up some orange and apple, and pour myself a MASSIVE glass of fruit juice (my ultimate munchies food - fruit is orgasmic when high). I get my little portable DVD Player and put on something I know will make me laugh (Friends, Seinfeld, How I met Your Mother), and get my laptop and open up CoffeeshopDirect :P

I know that might not sound like much, but I've found that I enjoy the high so much more when I'm in an environment like that. It's a ritual I've been following for a few months now, and it's something I look forward to 2-3 times a week. I own my own publishing house, so I sometimes work 12-14 hour days, and getting home and doing that is just amazing. I really can't imagine smoking any other way.

Do any of you have smoking rituals/favourite places to smoke etc.?

In my private harem, surrounded by a coterie of nubile odalisques plying me with a constant stream of cannabis and American microbrews, and trained to anticipate my every lascivious desire through the merest effort on my part. A tepid cough. A raised eyebrow. A shallow grunt. And my bowl is refilled.

Just kidding. I imagine the answer will be similar for most of us who live in fear of Johnny Law -- in our home, or a friend's home. Like you, I'm feting the senses by juggling television and the internet at the same time while sprawled on the couch. Unlike you, I will probably be flipping between various televised sporting events (NBA and MLB) and Adult Swim (Metalocalypse, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Venture Brothers, etc.). I typically eschew the munchies as I'm weight-conscious, but if I having a really bad day, then I nosh a pint of Ben & Jerry's Phish Food* or a strawbery sorbet/ginger ale concoction of my own invention. Or a Dove bar. And there's always beer. All while refilling my bowl in 90 minute intervals.

One place I've never managed to toke at is a professional whirlpool/hot tub. Not one of those amateurish molded fiberglass affairs you'd find in your uncle's cabin, but the lavish types found in fancy spas and resorts. I imagine the main drawback would be falling asleep and drowing. But that's gotta be damn relaxing for that to happen.

You have my deepest sympathies.

* From the Urban Dictionary:

"The most delicious flavor of ice cream known to man. Made with chocolate ice cream, caramel, marshmellow, and tiny chocolate fish.

Produced by our friends, Ben and Jerry.
Thank you God, for Phish Food."
Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

im not picky the environment just has to be chill with good friends or alone. and i HAVE to have music or at the very least tv. if im outside i enjoy smoking in the woods or at the beach when no ones around. fave drink when im smoking is gatorade mango or simply raspberry lemonade. i like to watch comedies, seinfeld or old late 80's early to mid 90's saturday night live reruns.
educating myself and waiting for the next trip.

It depends on what im smoking really,

If smoking weed i find its gets me a little hyper and a little giggly so i like to have 2-3 friends about to share the buzz with a good film thats gonna have us all shitting bricks with laughter.
But
If im smoking hash all we get over here is rock hard stuff you have to crumble. i find it very smokey so i like to take my time with it and just chill on the lap top maybe watching a bit of racing(motor racing), some fifth gear or a good war film.

For me it has to be chill n' in my tent at zeeburg camping while watching family guy or something sci-fi on my ipod classic. I only smoke in Amsterdam and I find the camping enviroment very chilled, especially at night time when I'll stick some chilled out music on like KLF's chillout or maybe some Teddy Pendagrass lol.

In my 25 years old VW Camper plugged to an electric outlet to provide enough energy for my fridge (I call it "the never-empty-one") and a laptop full of music and movies!
That are the moments when I feel realy free on this planet...

Great topic!
I've got a few, and of course, none of them beat just about ANYPLACE in Amsterdam...But, I love grilling on the back porch listening to any of Mark Farina's Mushrooom Jazz collections (really, you gotta hear it) with a nice, bitter IPA...What a blast.

my favourite environment has to be outdoors in the sunshine.

late july, sunday afternoon, a country pub garden with a pint and mates would be the best, but i havnt smoked in a pub garden since i was a cheeky 18yr old, and it was hardly idyllic (dodgy pub in village).

so realistically my ideal setting is:

saturday, sunshine, shorts on, 4.30pm, bbq, friends, tunes on the stereo, beer in hand, smell of burnt sausages, smiles all round

yeah i love outdoor day time smoking.
