A few pictures from my March trip...

Forget the name of this place, but love the subtleness!

Image

Probably my favorite shop this visit:

Image

Snacks for the Cranberries concert! They're all Edelweiss from Warda 1 which I stumbled upon by accident while looking for Mellow Yellow! Yes, I know, MY and Warda 1 are nowhere near each other!!

Image

All in all I had a great time although I got lost more than I liked despite my advance planning!

I'll post more later. Cheers. :? :? :?

Those are some prodigious joints. Pure or with tobacco? Would have a tough time finishing one with my mates, let alone myself! Did you ever find Mellow Yellow? Keen on trying it out.

No tobacco here! They were actually the perfect size because they were rolled with 70mm papers so they were similar in size to those Marlboro 72s. And yes, I found MY eventually! :D

Cranberries concert was awesome. Delores O'Riordan is a bundle of energy! Definitely a great concert. Here's the setlist:

01. Analyse
02. Animal Instinct
03. How
04. Ordinary Day
05. Linger
06. Dreaming My Dreams
07. When You're Gone
08. Just My Imagination
09. Switch Off The Moment
10. Desperate Andy
11. Time Is Ticking Out
12. I Can't Be With You
13. Ode To My Family
14. Free To Decide
15. Salvation
16. Ridiculous Thoughts
17. Zombie
Encore
18. Shattered
19. You And Me
20. The Journey
21. Dreams

Seemed like the concert went really fast, although it could have been the 2 J's I smoked before the show! A band called Outside Royalty opened, but Delores stole the show. Interesting part of town...seemed nothing like Amsterdam. Would have liked to see it during the day.

As for Paradox, it's pretty small inside, but not as small as Grey Area. Actually, the doors are a little deceiving; it's sort of roomy inside and the budtender was a super friendly guy. They have a nice selection of buds too. They sell 5 euro bags. This was one place I actually took notes. I purchased 5 euro bags of NY Cheasel, Chocolope, LA Confidential, and a Chocolope joint for 4 euros and a bio joint for 3 euros. I think it's a great place to sample a bunch of different varieties for not a lot of money and it's in a pretty nice part of town.

I have so many bud pics but didn't take great notes so I forget what half of them are! I do remember buying Gunpowder at Stix. I had planned on buying at least 3 grams, but when I saw how much 1 gram was that was enough!

Image

I sprinkled a little bit on most of the joints I rolled and I assume it just made me even higher than I already was! Good stuff though. Well, enough for now. I'll post some more pics later. :D

Hey Dazed,

Was it this guy?

You don't say. It was 12,50 E/g last year. I know because Grey Area was charging 18 so I made a beeline for Stix. What's it up to now?

Yes! It was that guy! He was super cool. He was very patient and didn't mind showing me the various strains. To be honest, most budtenders I encountered were, generally speaking, pretty nice. None of them were pricks, but quite a few were indifferent. I guess it gets old waiting on stoners all day, although I would gladly except their job!

I think I paid 13 euros for the gunpowder at Stix. Worth it in my opinion as I don't really care for regular hash. I also bought a big-ass joint there for 10 euros, which I thought was expensive until I realized it was a full 1 gram joint! It's the big one in the middle:

Image

Another really cool place was Sanementereng in the Jordaan. The lady was very friendly and let me take as many pictures as I wanted. Don't remember what I smoked there, although I do remember the had a lot of African strains. It's really dark in there which was cool for my tired eyes!

Image

One of the best strains I smoked was the White Dolphin from Dolphins. Stoned the shit out of me! There was a little American hottie working there when I went about 10PM. Super friendly too.

I also crossed the river on the ferry to visit 't Ooievaartje. Didn't take any pictures but it was a nice little place. Kinda screwed up that you can't smoke in the front room though. It was nice and bright in there, but you had to take your weed to the dark back room with a pool table and no windows so I didn't stay real long!

I actually got lost looking for 't Ooievaartje! I had this great laminated map of Amsterdam that I carried everywhere, but it didn't really include the northern part of the city so I spent about an hour looking for the place!! All I really remember is seeing a shit-load of police. They were pulling people over left and right; must have been some sort of ticket writing campaign. :?

Love that dude. He always wore an enormous grin on his face and seemed to be on the verge of busting out laughing. His cheerfulness was so infectious that I couldn't help but smile and start giggling myself, although for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what was funny (prolly me -- the sight of one more benighted tourist!).

Thanks for the pix and the gr8 reporting, Dazed. I've got to make it into Sanementereng one of these days as it looks to be a really unique gem of a shop. TBH I'm more into chilling in cozy Amsterdam spots than high octane weed so Sanementereng is defo on my to-do list. Cheers!

Just a few random shots:

This guy was a trip. I went to take his picture and he started waving his hands indicating for me to stop! I'm thinking "what the hell?" and then I see his change can!! So I throw a euro in and he gives me this pose...

Saw Alice in Wonderland here. If you ever get a chance to see a flick here, do so...the place is awesome.

Surprisingly good food here. I think I had Chinese twice...very good. It's on the top floor of de Bijenkorf.
