A question for DC

Post by MikeD. »

By any chance, do you (or can you) get the NHL playoffs on the tube at the Nes? Last march I came to the dam and missed a nice chunk of the NCAA tournament. I will undoubtedly be stopping by regardless, but would LOVE it if I could chill and watch my Blackhawks!

We can get the Hockey, but it depends on what time the game is shown in the US, most of them will probably be outside our opening hours.

Good point with the time change, but perhaps if there is a day game on the weekend, you guys may pick it up then. Regardless, thanks for the quick reply and I'll stop by to introduce myself in a few weeks.

If you all want to sit down around one table 12 would be a push at work, especally thurs to sat. Our other bar the Batavia on PrinsHendrikkade 84 has a large smoking area downstairs could probably accomodate ya better. Otherwise, come early and get 'the' table, spread out or smaller numbers. Wherever ya end up, have a goodin. 8)

I also have one for DC

My first time at Nes was back in '06, and it was my favourite. I was just wondering how come you guys stopped selling weed?

The landlord of the premises fukt us. We'd chose to make 't Nes a coffeeshop and bought The Batavia bar for serving alcohol. Because we had to remove the drinks license and replace it with the weed license as primary, that gave a window for protest. Couple of weeks before the changeover the landlord did protest and that was that as they say.

 Somebody posted fingers through the front door at work when we were closed. Thanks go to the kind soul that did, but I'd have preferred to say it in person to whoever it was.
