Amsterdam part 3 for me

Post by Bas »

Looks like im set to return to the dam for my 3rd trip. My first ever trip was back in febuary of this year and i stayed the Amsterdam Grand. Absolutley amazing. Second time i went with uni and it was far far more budget. Stayed at a hostel wich proudly had a book encased on a pedestal claiming it to be the worst hotel in the world!

Still both trips were awesome. Anyway i was wondering if some of you seasoned vets could help me out in terms of accomo, im wanting somethin fairly decent, for around 50-60 pounds a night, any suggestions would be appreciated :)

The Damrak Hotel is close to CS and everything else, really. I stayed here a couple of times and it's nothing fancy, but gets the job done. I got a single w/private bathroom for 60 euro a night.

After 10 trips or so, I'd rather rent a smoker friendly apartment, but if you're flying solo on a budget, the Damrak isn't that bad - only downfall is no smoking in the rooms.

Thanks for the tip , but im gonna be with a group of friends, 3-4 of us probably. What are the rates for an apartment? And yeah there is nooo way we would be able to adhear to the no smoking rule. That being said it will be summer by then so might not be so bad! The price definately sounds good. 8)

We had a quad en-suite in the Vijaya last month for around 360e. Didn't need it in the end, only 2 of us went so we got a double. Brekkie and citytax included. Basic, clean hotel in a great location and you'll be ok toking out the window. Failing that, there's a smoke friendly bar next door. 8) 8)

we use this one when we go, about 15 min walk from basjoe and katsu in the other direction, rookies is about 500m away and if your stupid enough to spend your money there you are 2 floor above Bulldog Palace
with 4 of us it works out 150 each after city tax and all

I'm staying at Die Port van Cleve which is just behind the Royal Palace. Never stayed there before but it looks nice enough. Paid about £60 per room per night through Expedia.

cheers for the reccomendations. I need your help tho people i havent had time to book anything in advance and i probs wont have enough money to do so till next week. However my plans are now concrete that ill be coming on the 6th of August and leaving on the 9th. I was gonna use that Amsterdam Cribs place that someone told me about, however iv gone on there just now and there are only 4 bedroom apartments available, and theres only 2 of us coming so thats not do-able. Any other places you can reccomend that i can get for about 100 euro a night max?
