I think a read of this will maximize your efficiency once you get there.

How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.

Trust me you're gonna love it, but a word of caution..for a city full of stoned people its not all that pedestrian friendly ie lots of trams, bikes and some nutter drivers

So watch where you walk!

FlyByNite i will be in Amsterdam from tuesday june 15th from about 8:00 until thursday 17th june about 18:00,
I have heard the trams and cyclists can be dangerous if your not paying attention, luckily one out of the fou of us has been before, cant wait counting the days
