is this problem contained to europe(in eguards to lexus)? because over here i havent heard much bad about them being bad. i drive a toyota sequoia now and its a great car and the toyota i had before was a borderline curse, refused to get rid of it until it went out and eventually gave up on it going out anytime soon at 375k miles. i love BMW's though, but alot of my friends who own them have changed to lexus/infinity due to the cost of maintenance and the vast availability of parts over here. had an acura too(honda) and that was a great car too. as much as i love the 3 series right now if i had the $ i think i'd pick an infinity g37 or lexus is..or even a 2 year old acura tl over many other lux cars right now. purely based on maintenance/parts costs over here.
educating myself and waiting for the next trip.

Worldwide recall as far as I know, I'm not saying they're bad cars (posh Toyotas aren't as good as their german counterparts imo) they've just got a bit of a shit name at the moment and I personally wouldn't want to drop 30k on a car thats got possible safety issues.

also every car with a proven fault is looked up on the DVLA database & notices sent out to current owners, ive had a few, but never act on them, starter motors, solonoids, alternator belts e.t.c, if the car works

Not as flashy(or impressive spec wise) as bmw/audi/mb.and not as many features but they will run a bit longer. and outside of Europe cheaper to maintain. always thought japan(ESP Toyota ) makes capable 4wd vehicles as well.Boner wrote:Worldwide recall as far as I know, I'm not saying they're bad cars (posh Toyotas aren't as good as their german counterparts imo) they've just got a bit of a shit name at the moment and I personally wouldn't want to drop 30k on a car thats got possible safety issues.

You didn't hear about the fatal crash?Pauli Wallnuts wrote:Boner wrote:, bit of a stupid comparrison as well imo as a 360 not working because of a design fault isn't going to kill you (or someone else) unlike a brake and/or steering problem with a car.fair enough, but as far as im aware no1 anywhere has died from these flaws, & unless the brake fluid reservoir exploded it wouldnt matter anyway even if the fluid did leak out the pressure would gradually lower & the pedal would get soft & you would know somethings wrong, i dont know anything about the steering problems, but it wont be anything serious, take it from some1 whos been in the car repair trade for over 13years these manufacture faults are common place, they are never serious enough to cause an accident, even the toyota sticky pedals havent been proven to have caused an accident, they claim but cant prove (&now its proved that it wasnt the pedal anyway but the floor mat getting in the way) & anyway any1 whos driven an E30 BMW, knows all about sticky accelarators, but it wernt a problem back in those days, because the c**ts we now know as compensation solicitors hadnt fully evolved,

would hate to get hit in the head with a ps3..would take my head off much like a cannonball was..nothing against the ps3(i do strongly prefer 360 though) but that things huge. the size of my vcr(yes i still have and even use my vcr on occasion ).
for the record while we're on about cars. really like that new lexus is-f. its not as good or cool as a bmw m but i still kinda like it. the nissan gt-r....not so much.
