Not sure yet, just recently started looking. A mate knows more about all this stuff better than me which is a huge relief and pointing me in the right direction. A real annoyance I have is choosing a practical, comfortable motorway car due to the huge miles I do with work, so something top end (not ridiculous, lol) with decent bhp. Would love something sportier but just not practical doing the miles I do. Also want to get a battered old Land Rover in time and take the entire roof off, even if the engine lasts a year or two just to drive around locally to the beach and stuff, but practical car comes first and can't wait to start test driving some.

EDIT spelling mistakes

If they're in your price range take a look at the new Mondeos, my wife has one as a compay car and it's a lovely car to drive in all conditions, the Titanium X would suit your needs.

Yes, I've had 2 turbo Mondeos, old shape and new shape. First was a company car from years ago and it was a top car and hammered it everywhere, as it was a company car.

Now I'm self employed, the whole car buying, maintenance and running costs is a huge factor now. I agree about Mondeos, I can't honestly fault them, even Top Gear praised them, but looking for something different now after owning 2 of them.

Might be worth mentioning that the Lexus's had a bit of a recall due to dodgy brakes recently. ;)

I had a Lexus in the US and it was the best car I have ever owned. Worked flawlessly. My Mom has a 20 year old Lexus that still runs like a swiss watch.

Yeah, recently I keep looking at BMW's when I drive past garages. Mate says they are good. Lexus are good too, I like the style of them, different and not too many about. Plan is to get something within next couple of months and need some good test drives of various models first but has to be above 2Litre and I always buy diesel too and if hasn't got Angel Eye headlights, I sure as hell with have them fitted in.

That maybe but the fact remains they've recalled quite a few recenly all over the world for things like brake fluid leaking and steering problems, I wouldn't touch one myself atm.
