Hi guys,

Arrived in Amsterdam late yesterday afternoon after a long train ride from Paris. Checked in to our apartment and headed off to Grey Area... Or so we thought.

After about 20 minutes of walking up and down canals I admitted defeat, told my girlfriend she was right all along, and headed back to the apartment to get a map.

Set off again, this time knowing where we were going, and made it to Grey Area just before closing.

Please note: I will be putting pictures up at some point but I have to buy a camera cable first, left mine in the UK!

Budtender was great as always, really helpful and friendly. I was quite surprised to see Casey Jones on the menu, and it smelt incredible so we bought a bit of that. We also got some Grey Haze and some K.O Kush

Got back to our apartment and rolled some Casey Jones. Sat out on our terrace and smoked it up. I have to say, CJ is really, really good. It has a really uplifting high, quite invigorating. My girlfriend started cooking just after smoking it and seemed to be having the time of my life. I got semi-obsessed with taking photos of the buds, time seemed to fly past.

After dinner we had some Grey Haze. It was nice, a bit harsher on the throat than the CJ but nothing bad, just made me appreciate how smooth the CJ was. The high was good, felt like someone was lifting my head up, my girlfriend started going on about how she had a balloon for a head and giggling alot.

Chilled out for a while and hit the K.O Kush (Killa Kush X Herijuana) before bed. This stuff smells and tastes great. It does what it say in the name, we were lying around watching tv, completely couch locked. In fact I don't think i was even watching TV... More staring at it and getting lost in trails of thought like how exactly this house boat apartment was staying afloat when it was built on a concrete base... And does it count as a boat if it has no means of propulsion... I know i know, who cares right? I did at the time!

I will be putting pics of these 3 up later, really close up macro shots so keep your eyes peeled!

More reviews to follow!

When I broke the GH buds open I was surprised at how sticky they were! Here is a couple of close ups

Not surprising it was so sticky with this much resin

Thanks for the awesome pics! I wasn't in love with anything I tried at Grey Area last time so they had been slipping down my list, but those pics are very tempting.

Using a Canon 100mm F2.8L Macro on a Canon 5d Mk ii, which means lots of megapixels to crop with :)

Good morning all,

So yesterday was a tiring day, and my feet ache this morning. We must have walked a good 10km, all the way down to Mellow Yellow, then to BlueBird, then all the way to Fondue & Fondue for dinner... I plan to not move much today, and i have the means to do so!

So we woke up yesterday morning, head still a bit fuzzy from the night before. Very pleased that our boat has this little coffee machine that the dutch seem to be crazy for!

I wasn't planning on smoking early in the day, but i couldn't resist... I had a nice wake and bake with my good ol' friend Grey Haze.

We went down to the Noordermarkt antiques market which was nice to just walk around in, a little bit crowded though.

We went on the hunt for some food, eventually ending up at a falafel place down the road from Mellow Yellow (how convenient...). Went down to Mellow Yellow and got some Super Silver Haze and New York City Diesel. The buds were not great, a bit broken up and loose, but they both still smelt and looked very nice.

The coffeeshop was technically shut, the budtender told us, but showed us the Mellow Yellow Lounge on a map, which was further along the road.

We decided to give it a miss and instead walked all the way to BlueBird. Its the first time i've been in this coffeeshop, i decided it was worth a visit after hearing good things about the hash.

I wasn't disappointed, after looking through many of their different types (with thanks to the long haired male bud tender for going back and forth to get them with a smile on his face for about 10 minutes whilst i tried to decide) we decided on the Malana Cream and the Parvati Pollen.

We decided to stop and have a smoke at this coffee shop as it has an air conditioned smoking room upstairs for the likes of us tobacco mixers. We started with the Parvati Pollen, as it was described as being a nice mellow high, just right for 2pm smoking.

It feels as it was described, nice and uplifting, quite refreshing actually as the Grey Haze from the morning was wearing off me a bit. This gave me the energy to get back to the boat!

We had our fondue booked for 6.30, so had a good few hours to chill out on the boat. I figured that meant it could only be time for one thing, the Super Silver Haze.

One for the close up lovers(SSH):
Image

SSH is lovely, great smell and a great taste to follow through. A bit deceptive i found though... What i mean is, we smoked it all up, felt really high for a while, for a good 3 hours... Then we went off to get our fondue, and I felt completely normal walking down there (relatively speaking).

Anyway we're sitting in this fondue place (which might i add, is a GREAT place for a stoned dinner, swirling bread chunks in a pot of molten cheese is so fun) and I realise we've both been staring out the window without saying a word for about 10 minutes, all the colours and reflection of the water were really exaggerated, I was still high as a kite! Great stuff!

We walked back from the fondue place and were going to try and find Anyday, as i had heard some good stuff about a 17euro hash on the menu.

Again, after a while, and for the second time this holiday, I gave in and told my girlfriend she was right, admitted i needed a map and went back to the boat.

When we got back to the boat we decided our feet could not carry us any further, so stayed put on our terrace with a nice New York City Diesel spliff with a couple of sausages of the Malana Cream.

Here is the NYCD
Image
(sorry the close ups are a bit off, its hard to hold a camera and a flash gun and manually focus when stoned to oblivion)
Image

I'll be completely honest, I don't know which did what... All I know is I was very stoned, very quickly. The hash definitely added a really lovely spicy flavour, but it was VERY strong. I was sitting on the sofa after and could see the whole boat rocking, even though it wasn't. It was verging on trippy.

Sadly, being stoned to stupidity, after a while i skinned up the rest of the Malana Cream with some of the K.O Kush from the day before.

I forgot to take a photo of the Malana Cream, all I have is this photo of its baggie, which may give you an indication as to just how sticky this stuff was.

Image

Its hard to work with this hash, it sticks to anything and everything. It took a couple of minutes to even get it out the baggie! I was rolling it in to sausages on a laminated piece of paper and it was leaving so much oil everywhere I had to scrape it off with a knife! Despite this difficulty, this is one of the most potent black hashes i have smoked, and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a strong black hash. Although its expensive, its worth the money, around 12.50-euro for 0.8g.
