Lazy Buddha's Weed/Hash Report [May 7-10]

Post by Lazy_Buddha »

Well, I've been to A'dam a few times in the past and always wanted to write a report when I got back, never got around to it. So now I thought I'd drop one for my most recent trip May7-10. I'll skip the stories and keep to the weed/CS reviews for the most part.

After hoping for great weather it was a shame that Amsterdam was grey and damp when I arrived at Central at 6:00PM. First stop after checking in was one of my fave coffeeshops...

HOMEGROWN FANTASY

Bought: 1gm of Homegrown Cheese and 1gm of Super Silver Haze.

Homegrown Fantasy is always a treat. A lovely little CS, not too big or noisy or busy and some of the best weed in the Dam. Both the Homegrown Cheese and the SSH were textbook examples, absolutely mint, great tasting and great highs. IMHO if you ever wanted to point someone in the direction of a Cheese or a SSH that perfectly capture what those two strains are about then HGF's are the ones. Faultless.

next up for Friday....

HUNTERS

Bought 1gm of G13/Amnesia & 1gm of Temple Ball.

Stopped of in Hunters just to pick some weed up, didn't stay. The G13/Amnesia had a lovely proper hazy taste to it and the high was a nice balance of head and body. The Temple Ball was OK, it's the first time I've had any and I didn't like the taste much, the high seemed OK but nothing amazing.

Suddenly...

GREEN PLACE

Bought 1gm of Super Lemon Haze, 1gm of Strawberry Kush, 1gm of Pineapple Haze, 1gm of AK47 & 1gm of Twizzla.

I ended up at Green Place three times over the weekend so I've lumped them all together in one entry.

Green Place is excellent, fantastic weed and a nice quiet small environment. Over the weekend it was my most visited CS for good reason.

The weed...

The Super Lemon Haze was textbook, lovely taste, nice hazy sting, Excellent buds - perfect.

Pineapple Haze was a new one to me. The BT recommended it and I enjoyed it mostly for the taste, not so much of a hazy edge to the taste but sometimes you get a real hit of pineapple taste. It's a really fruity little fucker with a bit of a trippy high. Lovely.

Strawberry Kush - Slight taste of Strawberry, not much though, but a very heavy hitter otherwise it seemed. The only weed of the trip I finished in one evening if that means anything.

AK47 - It was cheap and I was running out of cash. I can't remember much about it so either it was really boring or REALLY good:-)

Twizzla - Me like. Nice soft has that you can roll into a worm quite easily. Good taste, nice high. I'm not such hash man so I find it hard to really go into much detail about it.

but also...

GREENHOUSE

Bought 1gm Alaskan Ice & 1gm of Silver Pearl

On recommendation of the budtender at GH Haarlemmerstraat (sp?).

The Alaskan Ice had a mild Hazy sting to it but the effects were strong and dizzying, it really cut through.

Silver Pearl was a lovely heavy hitter. Taste? Not so much. High? Thuddy and woaah! A right mangler.

ONE OFFS...

Old Church Cheese - Spent a while in the Old Church so I thought it only fair to buy a li'l weed. Not bad. Not HGF quality and not cheap but it did the job and was a nice tasting smoke.

Softland White Widow - Got lost trying to find the post office, found myself at Softland so I went in and bought some cheap weed. The first time I've ever smoked White Widow (never got around to it before) and it was cheap but it was OK, nothing amazing but I never expected it to be.

Rokerij Laughing Buddha - Always like a smoke of LB. Bought at Rokerij on Singel. Not bad, not brilliant, I've had better LB from here, this was OK but it can be a really nice smoke sometimes. Not too heavy, just nicely high.

Basjoe's Heaven Haze - Didn't stay long at Basjoe, the budtender seemed a bit unfriendly. The weed was good though, nice fruity taste and really pleasent floaty 'heavenly' high.

420 Kush - 420 was by far my favourite CS of the trip mostly down to the music played (my kind of stuff, particularly Frank Zappa). The 420 Kush was really heavy, REALLY heavy. Ever since I smoked HGF's Hindu Kush a couple of years ago I've been a kush fan and the 420 is particularly Kushty.

Tweede Kamer's Riffman Laila - I've smoked Riffmans Shibani, Noor and Dunya in the past so I got another gram this time of Laila. Very soft hash, really easy to pull apart and roll into worms. Great taste, good intense high. Still a fan of the Riffman's goods.

Barney's Dr. Grinspoon - I know it's a bloody gimick (maybe) and too expensive but I had to try it while I was there. The gram was a bit ropey (bits and pieces, a few sticks) but the weed was nice, quite a happy giggly high but not outstandingly strong in effect or flavour. Was it worth e17? Hmmmm.

And on that BOMBSHELL I'm all typed out. It was another EXCELLENT trip and I smoked a lot or different weeds in a lot of different places. The winners imho were Homegrown Fantasy, Green Place and 420 and the best weeds of the trip were the HGF Cheese, HGF SSH, GP SLH and 420 Kush.

fin.

Thanks for the report. I was umming and aarring whether to have the 420 kush in september. I have always had good product from De Kuil, but this is a strain I have never smoked. Is it a chill type of smoke or a heavy indica ?.
Next trip 1st August 2015. 2 weeks camping/putting my feet up.

Cheers for the report. Second good report of the pineapple haze ive seen recently. I was disappointed with it from Amnesia in 09 but need to try GP's version. And the Grinspoon always looks like that, thats how it grows. There was a large discussion on it: https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... de45c51b26
@ Rollup: Dr Grinspoon is Barneys version of Quaze/ Quazar Haze/ 100% Sativa/ Pure Equatorial Sativa etc. they said it is 2.0 version.

Well, my notes read...

"Heavy high. Really Heavy. Not much taste but really heavy. Sour. Too heavy."

I think it must have been pretty heavy (although I'm not sure what 'too heavy' means)! :D

Yeh, he was a Rasta guy, I don't think he even looked at me or talked to me, it was quite weird actually but then maybe I was just being a bit paranoid or looked a bit dodgy at the time. :D

Sadly James the budtender is going through a bit of a rough stretch... please don't let that first impression keep you from visiting Basjoe again. It really is a top notch shop and James is always the best... we all deserve a second chance.

Peace
