I was there three...first time i saw floyd, I'm now up to four plus DG at the royal festival hall. All have been unforgettable.moby69 wrote:Bilbo Baggins wrote:I saw Pink Floyd at Maine Road in Manchester in 88 and it remains the highlight of my life as far as gigs go----we had the lot ----parachuting sheep--nazi type dudes singing from pulpits--cartoons by gerald scarfe as the backdrop---
I was there too .
But I don't recall any of this , only the pig .
Think i'll have to catch the o2 dublin gig as i'm sure i'll be in NL 12 days after the Arnhem gig.
On a side note, i'm off to Rhodes a the end of the month, a place called Lindos. Went there last year and fell in love with the place. Made good friends with a guy working at the beach cafe we used daily, and during a chat about music he tells me that Dave Gilmour (the reason i first picked up a guitar) was close friends with his boss, and has a house here. In fact, his kids were over a few weeks earlier. Apparently, floyd had been coming here since the 70s/80s.
Maybe one day i'll meet the great man, who knows...
