I see, cheers.
Like I said, I don't really know that much about Dutch politics or what party seems to be popular or not, gaining popularity or what they are even called, if I'm truthfully honest, but good to learn from those who know.

Which Islamic views are draconian?

Note : Surahs and Quran only. All else is interpretation of Scripture which is Khati'a.

I was curious as to what views the PVV have regarding Muslims, not really knowing enough about Dutch politics, I was wondering how draconian their views were and what policies they have towards Muslims in NL.

I saw an interesting docu the other night on BBC about Muslims in the UK and how the EDL (English Defence League) are dilligently gaining popularity here and was wondering how things are in NL, as I think it's more of an issue there, than here, or is this not the case?
Nothing like the BNP at all. There really is no party, since the PVD has one one member, G. Wilders. He is just a blowhard who takes some understandable fears and turns into his own anti-Muslim party. The problem is, he has no ability to govern since no one will work with him. Plus they have no experience in government.

But the BNP is a real party, with a ground force. The PVV has no street force, which makes it pretty weak imho.

Fuck the PVV, everyone I meet in Amsterdam and almost all good Dutch people hate them.

Dutch politics is very interesting since there are always coalitions. We may have a 3-way coalition with three parts, the left GroenLinks and the left-Liberal D66 + right-Liberal VVD.

Two of those parties are good for the coffeeshops. Plus the PvDA may be in the government, and they won't make any big changes.

The party that was the most anti-cannabis, the CDA is falling and will probably not be in the government (the first time for decades!).

So we may see good news on the Coffeeshop front soon, or at least no more bad news...this is my limited opinion.

The GroenLinks are also for growercultivation legal reform, I think.

Thanks for the clarification and detail.

Out of curiosity, as far as Geert is concerned, am I right in saying that he's not against Muslims but the Islamisation of the Netherlands because Islam opposes freedom and Geert is only speaking out against ANY ideology that threatens freedom.

Absolutely wrong, where did you get such a notion? He is petty and hates people who are not white Dutch.

CPS?

He won the local election in one or two towns (Almere) and was unable to govern since no one would work with his party.

I am no expert on the BNP but my guess is only in regard to Muslims....the PVV is very pro-Israel, pro-gay rights.....

But is all his ego, really. Don't try to compare to the UK, the PVV is unique.
