Your 3G will be able to take the OS upgrade, whenever they roll that out. I saw the new version about a month ago, my friend works for Apple. Impressive but I will wait for the real world reviews.

looks amazing, I can't believe they got such a high resolution screen in there.

the competition was only just catching up with the original iphone! Now Apple have left them in the dust again. I think Steve is laughing right now... (all the way to the bank)

You can tell you're getting old when all you want out of a phone is the ability to make/receive phonecalls/text messages.

I have the iPhone competitor, HTC Desire and it trounces the iPhone with it's 1GHz Snapdraggon processor and bigger oled screen. Apple still don't offer Flash viewing either on the iPad or iPhone, it's crap at multi-tasking and you can't hack with the phone. Don't get me wrong, the iPhone is OK, but never in a million years would I buy one and I learnt all my graphic design and web design on Apple computers, but would still never buy Apple, despite.

It's only 480 x 854, just slightly better than the 480 x 800 that most newer phone have.

I couldn't agree more, I am still carrying a Hero. Apple was great back in the day when it was exclusive, now it's all about getting an apple product to the masses.

My next phone will probably be this, http://www.gsmarena.com/dell_streak-3353.php

I felt the same about wearing a wrist watch. The battery went on it years ago and never replaced it. Don't think I need or ever where a watch again, it felt liberating not wearing it, but could never live without my Android smartphone with email, interenet, mp3, games, Google maps/sky, camera, world or city news feeds, live weather reports, radio, compass, oh....and a mobile phone too.

I could never have envisaged having a gadget like this when I was kid, that could do so much and more, that's the same size as a small chocolate bar.

Almost identical phone as my HTC desire. Good choice, imho.

The thing is with Apple I don't like, is the way they market their products to people who think they can't live without being an iphone/ipad owner and turning it into a sort of cult and trendy following, when truth has it, Android is selling just as many phones as Apple did when they first came out.

Dont get me wrong apple have some amazing products but its more the "must have" element of it i hate, Then on top of that there is the "must have" price tag to go along with it. TBF microsofe aint much better but value for money its much better just dont use IE and you should be fine .
My brother works for Google over here and he was telling me they are looking into their own OS and if it happens il snap one up asap. I use Chrome as my browser and i only have one fault with it and its not even a big one.
