It was good to meet you as well DC. Sorry about the "Never Ending John Sinclair Search" I think I think the "Weed Fairy" may have had something to do with that, along with the haul that Ftcarer and I had by then. Yeah, I went a little crazy the first night, I do love the "candy stores". I would do it all again, though. Cheers!DC wrote:Good meeting you sir. That Mean green from the Boerenjongens was good stuff for 10 bucks a gram. As for the haul?....lol 10 year old kid in a candy store springs to mind.
Yes Geeky and FT Antwerp is a very nice city. It's a good destination for a "Day Trip" from Amsterdam. And, yes, the G13 Haze was a bit of a "rip off"!geekymonkey wrote:It sounds like you had a lovely day in Antwerp.
Funny you should say that about the g-13 haze. It really doesn't do it for me either, but a lot of people seem to really adore it. I

DAY 4
I woke up had breakfast then headed toward Central Station for a trip to Haarlem. I stopped off at Anyday for a little "Verdamper" damage before catching my train. I ordered a Coffee and asked if I could use a Verdamper. The Bud Tender asked me if I was going to buy any Weed. I Told him I had bought some Jamaican High Grade the other day, so he reluctantly handed me the glass bowl for the 'Verdamper". During all of my visits to Amsterdam I have never had any one ask me to buy weed if I had purchased a drink; and Anyday of all places, I have always had good interactions there. I had not seen this guy there before, so, I just "let it go" and went up stairs and 'Vaped' some Cheese from Extreme, superb!
Now I was ready for a little adventure, so I headed to the station and caught my Train to Haarlem. My first stop would be Coffee Shop Birdy, which I had wanted to try for sometime. I some how walked right to it, only to find it closed; temporarily I think. So, I walked over to W.W Sativa to have a look. This place has been transformed. It is much smaller and mostly a "buy and Fly" place. I looked at the Tabbisla hash and bought a gram. There was no place to sit so I walked down to Empire Coffee shop. This is a "Chill" local shop. I fired up the Tabbisla which was very nice. There was a Dog on the floor watching my every move as I got nice and high. Now was the time to Head over to the Frans Hals Museum.
This was my third trip to this Museum, it is one of my favorites. I wont bore you with more "Art Geek" info, but I did spend about 2 hours there. From there I headed back to Empire to smoke some more Tabbisla then I grabbed a "Brodjie" at a little shop close to the Train Station. I got back to Amsterdam at about 4:30pm, so took a little snooze, that's one of the nice things about vacations.
I woke up around 6:00pm and headed over to the Indian restaurant behind my Hotel. From there I went over to have a nice Ale at Gollom. I had a nice Belgian ale and had a nice conversation with a local guy.
I was close to Soft Land so I went there to check my email. I know that I have mentioned this shop a lot but please don't get the idea that I like this place. It's just that it's close to my Hotel and the S.A.G.E that I bought there was passable, but I don't like the "Vibe" especially the young woman who works there at night. After I checked my email I was trying to log out and the Woman started yelling at me that my Computer time was up, "I'm just trying to shut it off", I told her", she gave me a dirty look and said it turns itself off, so, I said ok and got out of there.
BASJOE
Cheese 10.00 per gram? (not really sure about that price)
Heavenly Haze 12.00 per gram? (not sure about this price either)
I walked into Basjoe greeted by a smiling James. It was nice to see him. He suggested the Cheese, so, I tried a gram of that. It smelled wonderfully "cheesy". I fired some up and it was very nice. A little time passed and I asked James what else was good. He showed me the Heavenly Haze. I tried a gram of that. I think that was the best Haze of the trip so far! Nice smell and a nice "Buzz" as well. It was getting kind of late so I walked over to Nes.
It was kind of busy at Nes and I don't think DC was around. I had a quick Gulpner then headed back to my Hotel and "dreamland".
More soon. Thanks for your patience everybody. Cheers!

One of my fave coffeeshops i visited during last years trip.
Hottest budtender of the trip as well, total blonde lithe euro babe
.
We had the "special" Indica ( 12eu for 1.8 grams , looked like La Con , super crunchy with crystals almost looked like it was dipped in glass ), and it was beyond special, we could not ride back to the train station and had to push our bikes, will definately be coming back to Empire this July.

10 Days in a daze (continued)
DAY 5
Today I was going to visit Den Hague, Leiden and maybe Delft, if there is time. I stopped of at Anyday to use the "Verdamper, " again", before catching my train. Today, I wasn't "hassled" for not buying any gear, it was a different Bud Tender then yesterday so everything was cool. I mixed some Heavenly Haze, from Basjoe, with some Tabbissla from W.W Sativa. "The quintessential Travelers combo"!
I got on the train at about 10:00 am so far so good. Then half way to Den Hague, the Conductor took my ticket and said that I had a second class ticket and I was in first class. This was very confusing to me, I had asked another conductor, the day before, if that same seating area was first class and he said no. According to the Conductor on today's train, first class is any place that has the glass doors to enter. I guess the masses in second class are crammed into the small space by the doors, so, I went back there and surprisingly found a seat. This is the first trip that I have had problems with the Trains. I just had to let that go, "I am on Vacation and I will not let shit like that bother me" there I convinced myself.
I got to Den Hague around 11:00 am. I headed straight over to the Mauritshuis Museum of Art, this was my second visit. This Museum is another "Gem" one of my favorites for sure. It has quite a few "Master Pieces" including Vermeer's "Girl with the Pearl Earing", (played by Scarlet Johansen in the movie of the same name). Any way, another "Art Geek" jackpot!
I left the Museum and headed toward the Coffee Shop "Cremers'. I needed to eat something, so I walked through the busy shopping district, on my way to "Cremers", looking for a "Diabetes friendly restaurant. Everything looked "Trendy" and "Pricey", so I went straight to "Cremers". I thought they might have food, so I asked the Bud Tender. He could not have been less friendly or helpful, the Weed Menu didn't look that great either, so I got out of there. Fuck "Cremers"! I found a pretty good sandwich shop down the street so I got some much needed chow. By now it was almost 2:30 pm I didn't think that there would be enough time to go to Delft and make it to Leiden in time to visit De Lakenhal Museum. I had been to Delft before and not to Leiden, so got a nice cup of Coffee then headed to the Train Station bound for Leiden.
I got to Leiden at about 3:15 pm. I stopped at the V.V.V right out side of the station for a Map. The Man there was very helpful, I was able to walk right to the Museum. It was 3:30pm I would have an hour and a half to look at Paintings. At 5:00pm I had looked at everything, a few pieces twice. This is another outstanding little Museum. Now it was time for some Hash!
When I got outside it was starting to rain, it's a good thing I brought my Umbrella, You have to be prepared when you are in the Netherlands. During my 4 trips to the Netherlands it has rained for about half of each visit. My next stop would be the "Liedseplien" Coffee shop so I trudged through the rain and headed that way.
LIEDSEPLIEN (leiden)
Lebanese Hash 7.00? per gram (I think thatwas the price)
I walked through the lovely Canal district and found the Coffee Shop, without any problems. I had copied a Google map that Hippy Man, an A.C.D member and Leiden resident, had posted for me. Thanks Hippy man, I was hoping to see you at the Liedseplien, but judging by the drawings in your "Comic strip", I don't think you where there. I think my American accent may have been a tip off for you. Any way, the Liedseplien is a Local but friendly shop. I bought a gram of the "Leb" which I had read about it on an A.C.D post, by Hippy Man, and I really wanted to try it; so that was a quest fulfilled.
I sat down by the window and watched the rain hit the narrow street as I fired up the "LEB". It was nice, very "old school". We must have gotten Lebanese Hash in the U.S in the 70s because this stuff sure tasted and smelled familiar. I got a nice little buzz then I headed toward the Train Station to find some food.
I ran across a traditional looking Dutch Restaurant so I went in for pancake. I think most of the patrons where mostly locals but I felt comfortable. The Server spoke English and was nice enough. Just as I got my Pancake about eight Americans walked in with an "ear piercing", screaming baby. They where seated right next to me. This was just the kind of thing that I was glad to leave behind in the "States"! After I nervously choked choked down a fourth of my Pancake the Mother of the child finally took her to the Lavatory. So, I "polished off" my Pancake in, relative, peace then got my check and vacated!
I headed back to the Train station and headed back to Amsterdam. I guess It was about a half hour or so to get back. It had been a lovely day of Art viewing and exploring two Cities with cultures, very different then what I am used to.
When I got back to Central station I walked over to 420 for a few "Volcano" bags. The shop was pretty busy so I just had a Coke lite and loaded a Bowl of H.Haze with some "LEB", also a nice "combo". I had another bowl this, time with Tabissla,; then I walked back out amongst the crowd of weekend visitors, then I headed toward Anyday.
Anyday was to crowded so I went right down the street to Doors Palace. I had a Hienieken draft then sat down and loaded up another pipe full. Every one says Hienieken is better in Amsterdam but that hasn't been my experience, and this one is no exception. This isn't a bad place to have a beer but they where having trouble with there sound system "feed back" it was very irritating; therefore I had to get out of there.
EXTREME
Cheese,(again) 8.00 per gram, (best deal of the trip)
I walked down to Gollom to get a beer, it was too crowded, so I walked down to Extreme Coffee shop. Jo Anna, I think that's her name, was the Bud Tender that night, so I bought another gram of Cheese and a Coke lite. I am telling you, this is some good Cheese. I think it's even better then Basjoes and that's saying something. I sat down and fired that up, lovely. We don't get Cheese in the "States" so it's a real treat for me I love it. This is like the Cheese H.G.F used to have; certainly good timing for me! Well, it was getting pretty late, I was very tired from a long, but very nice, day.
On the back to my Hotel I stopped at a snack shop and got a Brodjie. I took it back to my room ate part of it, then it was "lights out".
I will have the next installment for you soon. Cheers!

Hey Cal,
I was great meeting yourself and ftcarer and I'm glad I had a chance to hang with you later at Extreme. Your report is great - I'm enjoying it almost as much as all of the left-overs that you and FT gave me. Your right - that Leb from Leidesplein took me right back to high school in the late seventies. And the zwartze hash was just like the black hash that would come around once in a blue moon. Anyway, it is great hearing your story. Please keep it coming.

Hey Blue Ridge,
It was good you meet you as well. I guess you made it back just fine. I hope the rest of your trip went well. I imagine that I will be reading about it soon. Yeah, I enjoyed hanging out in Extreme as well. Sorry if I influenced your decision to get a Beer instead of Food, I know you where pretty hungry. I did enjoy the Ales at Golem, though. Take care man!

Yeah, I started to feel like I had to eat real soon. Maybe the ale brought that out - not sure, but it had been a long time since I had eaten so I kind of bolted on you. Sorry about that.
By the way, I thought "Creamers" in Den Haag kind of sucked as well. I just glanced at their menu but didn't see anything tempting and had a tough time getting served even sitting directly in front of the bar tender. I didn't let any this bother me, I just sat there, smoked a joint and drank the beer I eventually got but I would not be in any hurry to get back to that place.
I did spend some time in another place called "The Game" I think (I may be confusing with a shop of the same name in Delft.) I bought some White Widow there for like 8e / gram that kicked ass. I sat in there for about an hour. Definitely a purely local place, it wasn't real easy to find - I just stumbled on to it. It was pretty busy too on a Tuesday night around 9pm. All-in-all not a bad place. The menu was pretty basic but the prices seemed reasonable and, if the quality of the WW is any guide, fair.
My trip was great but my notes are few. I hope to write about meeting up with other member like yourself as those stories are among the highlights of the trip. Take it easy, Cal

Really enjoying your report dude!
I think that cheese in Extreme is the same cheese that used to be in Easy Times last year - Joanna worked there for a while before she moved to Extreme. Girl knows her gear. I would agree that it is way better than Basjoe's (or HGF's) and, like you said, that's really saying something. That was one of my first smokes when I moved over last year, what a killer way to start a killer summer
. I presume it's the same cheese if Joanna's the girl serving it to you - her standards are awesomely high.

Hi QueenMab,
Yes, the Cheese at Extreme was exceptional. That's great that you know who Joanna is. She does know her weed, she has a good knowledge of World affairs as well. I had a few nice conversations with during my trip. I take it you are still living in Amsterdam, that must be "the experience of a life time". Cheers!
