Also,i'm assuming t'Tjuintje (sp) didn't quite make it on the map at the top of Overtoom

Any coffeeshop or other site worth listing that's slightly off the map, but not too much, I'll add later on and roughly how far away it is from that point.
Checked on Google maps and found Tuintje to be another 100 mts up on the left past Schoolstraat...for future consideration ,maybe

kick ass map!! bookmarked.
edit - just had a thought. iPhone users could use this map if there was a jpg version available. or, ahem, users could do it themselves by getting screenshots and joined them together in photoshop
if I had an iPhone I'd definitely wanna use this map!

BTW, this won't be the permanent URL for the map, it's only resting temporarily at this location for on going tests and updates until it's finished.
I can easily save the entire map as a JPEG, in fact I just did it and it's roughly around 20MB in size. Because of the huge size of the map (JPEG) you won't be able to pinch and zoom close enough on smartphones as there is a limit as to how much you can zoom in on images with phones. Besides that, the map will eventually have interactive options listing other sites and venues upon mouse clicks and a static JPEG obviously can't do this like Flash can.
I don't want to sound a git but I'm anti Apple and it's Apples fault for not offering Flash web browsing on their phones, ludicrous stuff, imo, and why anyone would want an iphone/ipad that doesn't offer Flash is beyond me, but that's another story, hence why I'm an Android user and the map works perfect on my phone.

Fantastic map. Like many others, I would love to be able to get my hands on a printable version, A1 size. I'd be more than happy to take the file down to my local printers and get a nice copy printed up prior to my trip to Amsterdam in October.

Awesome map Trance.
For some reason it will not work on my Blackberry. Any clues?

Not really sure, tbh. If you can view other Flash content on the web via your Blackberry, then you should be able to view the map. All it is, at the end of the day, is a basic web page with a Flash file on it.
My brother is a Blackberry user too, I'll find out from him if he can view it, when he's back from holiday.

I tried that, but I can't find any way to zoom out enough where most of the map fits on the screen. Any suggestions?

the print screen button will only save on the clipboard (ie "copy") the pixels that are being shown on the screen ... these pixels may then be "pasted" into any picture program as stuart1976 said
here is my method for getting all the pixels of trance's html page
the first step is to use the print screen copy/paste trick on the top left corner, then scroll to the right to the next bit (leaving a little overlap showing) and repeat the copy/paste into a second jpeg file ... when the top row is done scroll back to the left hand side and scroll down to the next bit of the page (leaving a little overlap showing) and repeat the copy/paste trick ... when that row is done, then repeat the scroll down etc
now you have several separate jpeg files
these can be printed as separate files and either left as separate paper pages or taped together into a single map
or you could assemble all the separate bits into a single picture in a picture progam (using the overlaps to match the edges of the separate bits) and then find somewhere that could print the whole map as a single sheet (don't know how big it will end up, could be really big and expensive to print)
my suggestion would be just to print all the separate pages and take those as they are

I'm trying the copy and paste several screen dumps. Then see how big it will be to print out. I'm going again in Aug and you have some places i have never got to on there.
Again; really good work Trance.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to give it a shot, but I don't have a very good printer.
It would be great of somebody could take the whole map and convert into one jpg file and host it somewhere. I wouldn't mind spending a few bucks having it printed up on decent paper.

I tried it on my blackberry and unfortunately, it just showed a blue screen.

yeh, same here, I'm gonna do screengrabs and then join em all together in Photoshop. I want to have a JPG version for times when I don't have internet access.

I have the full JPEG of the entire map, btw.
What's the point in having it though.
No professional printer can print it for you as you're not the owner nor have permission plus the colours are wrong for paper print and the map is not even finished yet. The JPEG will not work on phones as you can't zoom in far enough. No other web site is allowed to host part or all of the map either in JPEG or Flash form without permission, so what's the point?
