I believe this is the most accurate map of the 1012 postcode area anywhere. I'll do the rest one day.

There is something that has always bugged me about any map as such, though I feel the ACD 1 to be the best overall for the best part. And thats where you get to the point where the coffeeshop markings are so many that it can make reading the map that bit annoying when the markers and coffeeshop names can obscure other places or street names on a map.
This is not so much an issue with online maps, but can be a pain with maps you might want to print out. I just feel that there must or could be a way to have all the coffeeshops marked on a printable map while not obscuring other parts of the map?.
I guess what I'd do for printable maps is have a general A4 size map covering from Central Station all the way down to De Pipj with a selection of coffeeshops on for reference points then more detailed\zoomed in maps of each quater (in A4 size) of the main map with all known coffeeshops marked on for each section of the main map.
Of cause that would mean at least 5 map sheets but I just cant see it being possable to fit everything on a single printable map sheet without obscuring other map detail?. Guess you could have smaller pin marks with numbers on relating to coffeeshops on a seperate page?. Ah well might work on my own 1 day just to see if I can find a way to make my own map.

Good idea man, hit me up if you get time to make it. Wouldnt mind having that on me when im chung, and have lost my way in the many symetrical alleys and canals of amsterdam.. Thats probably my only complaint about amsterdam, its not stoner navaigation friendly, at least not for me anyway!

I've been thinking about this a little more and in theory it aught to be quite easy to do an expanded map of Amsterdam featuring most if not all coffeeshops within a map area. Sure, it would be very time consuming to enchance some map detail and make a better looking map than the default rather bland google maps image but I think it can be done using say google maps.
What I'd do is to zoom into say 1/4 of an area of Amsterdam on say google maps where there are coffeeshops, take a screen shot and save it. Do that with the the other 3/4 of the area I'd want to cover. It's then just a matter of joining all 4 seperate images together to make 1 massive detailed map. In theory I'd then have enough zoomed in detail captured to stick on all coffeeshops on without obscuring any significant level of map due to being near 4 screens big.
It would then once all work has been done a matter of sellecting 1/4 of the map at a time to print out of try it as a single map print if my printer can handle the detail.
Not saying it would in any way replace what sounds to be a great map from this thread, but I kind of have the time to see if I can see something different for myself and then share it if I'm happy with the results.

Win 7 has a little program called Snipping Tool built in.. Quite a cool app that would serve your purpose well.. Think Vista has it also.
