Hello !
I had lost this awesome forum for a few month!
I came here 1 year ago to ask you some advices for my 1st trip to Amsterdam and you were really helpful
I'm going back !
Except this time i'm with 2 friends, so we are 3. The Vondel Park Plaza Hotel where we stayed does not have triple room =(
I really enjoy the calm in this place, really close to the park.
So i'm going in an hotel for 2 or 3 nights top, i'd really like to have a balcony but i'm not sure it's very easy. . . If not i might stay at the Apple In wich is really close to the vondelpark park plaza hotel..
The coffeeshop where i really want to go back is the barney's lounge, great weed, calm, not crowdy..
Do you have any recommendation for an hotel? I really like to be able to smoke near my hotel or inside if possible..
What coffeeshop should i really try ?
I don't really like the centre of Dam, there is too much people for me

What dates will you be in Amsterdam?
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town and if there are any Toke $ Talks planned.
With three people to split the costs, have you considered an apartment or houseboat.
The Jordaan or Pijp are both quiet areas for you. Each has it's own coffeeshops.
Enjoy

I live on a houseboat near Vondelpark. My favourite coffeeshop in the area is the Kashmir Lounge on Jan Pieter Heijesstraat.
By the way, I think you will be lucky to find anyone that will rent you a houseboat or apartment for only 3 nights..
Good luck and enjoy your trip

Click on rooms, they have apartments/houseboats, I think most places do apartments/houseboats for 3 nights minimum so you may be ok.

I want to enjoy the most of my time since i'm not staying a long time.

Brouwersgracht is in a very nice area (Jordaan). There are lots of decent coffeeshops in the area.. including Barney's, which you mentioned..

If you plan on frequenting Barneys Lounge, want to stay at a nearby hotel and do not mind a livelier place than the Vondelpark area there are many good hotels around the Rembrandtplein which are in the same price range as the Vondelpark Plaza.
The NH has several decent hotels and you can get really good deals on rooms through lastminute dot com. The Schiller and Caransa are right at the square but they are a very noisy because of the nearby night clubs.
The Doelen and the Carlton are considerably quieter. The Carlton, which is situated by the Muntplein and the Bloemenmarkt, is the cheaper of the two (if my memory serves me right). At the Carlton you have the option of smoking or non-smoking as far as the rooms are concerned. They have rooms with balconies on the sixth or seventh floor. However, I am not sure about triple rooms. Better to travel in even pairs – double/twin rooms tend to be cheaper and there are always more options available.
The vicinity around Barneys Lounge (Reguliersgracht, Prinzengracht and Keizersgracht) is very quiet. If you can spend the money the Seven Bridges Hotel is actually next door to Barneys. I have not stayed there myself because it is a bit out of my price range but I have heard that it is supposed to be a top notch hotel.
As far as the local coffeeshops are concerned I personally prefer the quiet atmosphere of Barneys Lounge but Rokerij III which is by the Muntplein is also a good place to relax - particularly when business is slow. There are heaps of good cafees and breakfast/lunch places around the flowermarket. Burger Bar and Wok to Walk are close by too. A few hundred yards from Barneys there are a couple of good Indonesian restaurants. All in all I think the general area around Rembrandtplein/Muntplein is a very good place to stay.

Don't you think it will be too hot in the boat ? In the 2nd of August, cause there is no air conditionning.

That's what windows are for dude
You're assuming the weather will be hot and that the boat has a clear view of the sun..
