well just tell it no and everything will be fine, my neighbour's cats are killing the lavender plant at the front end of the row, how do you tell a cat what to do?

btw the photos at the bottom of the previous page are a really nice display of summer colour, your garden is providing a lot of pleasure, thanks for all the pics, love the detail, you have a good macro lens it seems

5 massive plants the tallest being over 5ft tall, all grown gorilla out in the wilderness of somewhere in Scotland. One plant has even gave a double shoot so this baby is 2 in 1... No signs of sex yet so the waiting game of reduced sunlight has begun

Wow everyone's gardens are looking great
I have Just had a couple of weeks off work so have done some tidying up in mine
after a good month of just enjoying view

this was 02/07/2011 with the poppies at their peek

Image

In My own bit it has been a case of ripping up the rest of the annuals that had seeded themselves (mostly poppies)
then give the aubrietia, campanula & geranium a bit of a hack back
it let me see where there were any gaps that needed filling
& I found some nice pinks in Morrison's for £1.50 a pop so hopefully now there a 6 different varieties for next year
And it also gave me chance to lift the first 2 bulbs of garlic

Image

Image

I am well chuffed with them

The lawn got another attack of rake, cut, rake then cut as low as I could
that then led to standing there looking at it with a pot of tea & a joint & the next thing I know I was hacking back the lavender up the side of the lawn
Once I had recovered from that (it didn't do the sciatica any good)
I have made a start on tidying up next doors bit
Again mostly clearing poppies that have flowered & moving the odd foxglove or 2
and I had taken some cuttings from a fuchsia a couple of months back & they needed some where to live

These were taken this morning before I cut the sweetpeas

I most certainly do :-)
It's great first thing on a morning to sit there & watch the bird's & bees going mad
And to just chill up there on an evening with a beer or 3 or even a nice glass of red

Here are another couple of photos
First this is today's crop of cut flowers for the house
sweetpeas & pinks who needs air fresheners

Image

And this is the end result of a drunken/stoned idea while smoking & drinking Hoegaarden

Image

It was February (ish) and it seemed like a good idea to try to germinate some of the pips in the lemon
I managed to get 12 up
Have given 6 away so far and have one in the house as well
with luck I will get one or 2 to survive in my dark north facing house over winter & get another house plant
