22nd July to 22nd August

Post by Rothbury »

I'm all booked in now, plane and apartment are done. All thats left now is to wait

A few quick questions

1. Whats the weather like around those dates? What kind of clothes will I need to bring with me.

2. For those of you who do the bike thing when you're there, what rental service do you use? Haven't ridden a bike since I was 12, I hope its a skill you remember easily :D

3. Which of you guys are gonna be there during these times and are down to hang out a little?

I'll start a thread in after/during when I'm there and keep those of you who are interested up to date.

You have been posted on the July and August Whos In Town pages.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.
Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
There is one planned on the 24th.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.

There will be events while you are in town.

Gay Pride Week - Aug 1 - 8

Grachtenfestival - Aug 14 - 23

Sail Amsterdam - Aug 19 - 23

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/profi ... le&u=45061

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

#2 I personally like Fredericks.

#3 check the Whos In Town page, you are posted on it.

Hey Rothbury,

I'll be out there with a mate as we are going to Dance Valley.

Weather wise i have always found it to be pretty much the same as UK but check online before you go.

I agree with FBN, Fredericks is best for bikes. They are nondescript typical dutch bikes so you don't look like a tourist.

Recycled Bikes at Spuistraat 84a sales bikes for €50. That will be a lot cheaper than renting one for a month.

Peace,

Well I'll be online my whole trip guys so we can arrange something via the whos in town pages.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I already made a thread so I figured I'd use this one.

Does anyone know any good phone companies in amsterdam? I need a local prepaid sim with data (iphone). Any suggestions?

I'm going to use Vodafone (prepaid sim + data) there's a shop in Schiphol airport that sells them called, "Airport Telecom Shop".

You can buy a data bundle on vodafone prepaid for €9.50. It is meant to last a month, but i find i hit my usage limit in 2-3 weeks on my iPhone.
Post a reminder up when you're in town and I'll try to come along to one of your t&t's..

Thanks for the info, is it hard to set up? For an english speaker I mean, are the directions easy to follow when registering the sim?
