i agree 100%. if i want flash i'll just get on my laptop/desktop or any other real computer that i have access too. i don't really even look at youtube on my iphone. the only real sites i look at on my iphone are more simpler sites, cnn, espn.com, soccernet.com, ebay, facebook, wikipedia, niketalk, etc or any site that has a mobile site. i don't really even get on acd much. the screen is to small for me to read the posts or work many real detailed/ high bandwidth sites. im like this with all phones. as i said for anything other i'd just use my laptop or something unless i REALLY had to get on a certain site and i was w/o my laptop on the go or something.Dava wrote:if i wanna view flash videos id much rather view them on my computer?
if i wanna browse the web/forums etc.. then my iphone is ideal. i dont see the big point in apple not having the flash support, we dont ACTUALLY need it?
what do we miss from this? not much at all im my opinion, i know you can only pick this downside from the iPhone and maybe so but it just doesnt appeal to me
IMO iPhones are ideal for my business/pleasure use, its got everything i need in a well thought out package.
i just dont understand why people dont like iPhones, i didnt think they was good at first i hated touch screens, but once i had a play around with one it was perfect!

A mate told me after reading one his tech mags, that Apple may offer Flash via HTML 5. I honestly do think Apple not offering Flash is ludicrous, not in any way slagging off iphone users, just Apple's choice. The day they offer Flash they'll probably monopolise the entire market despite their 2 year shelf life based on the pattern of releases.

yeah but its because 'steve jobs' thinks flash is dead technology and takes up a lot of bandwidth. i mean we can get most youtube videos on the phone anyway so what more flash videos would i want to see? i dont know wether the technology is dead or not but i know apple dislike of it.
@cantona7, have you got the new iphone? i can read the whole page of ACD without having to zoom in because the display can make the text that small and still readable but yeh its not overly comfortable browsing a forum on a phone but its alot easier now.
I think it's more to do with Flash being buggy rather than anything else. It can cause issues sometimes and even I know certain codes and techniques using Flash to mess things around if I wanted to.

also would like to add i think my iphone was part of a batch made to be sent to the uk. when i first turned it on it was set to English(uk) the only destination on the weather tab was London(always been cupertino California here), and was also set to Celsius and the 24 hr clock as well. so if anyone on here from the uk didn't get their iphone i apologize.

maybe Apple have realised englands the only country worth bothering with? hahaha only joking! yeah steve jobs didnt want it because of it being quite buggy depending who designed the flash etc.. and also eats up alot of bandwidth loading a flash website.

i like £'s, lb's, gallons, eights & ounces, but seriously fahrenheit???cantona7 wrote:the only destination on the weather tab was London(always been cupertino California here), and was also set to Celsius and the 24 hr clock as well.
+ milimetres is a much easier form of measurements than 16ths of an inch, trust me i work in a garage, & i always get confused with the old imperial spanners
I don't know about anybody else, but when it's summer here in the UK I tend to use Fahrenheit numbers to say how hot it is, but come winter I tend to use Celsius numbers. I know it's strange, but it's a sort of habit I've got myself into and even adjust the temperature sensor on my car dash when it's winter or summer, flipping between the two accordingly.

i think they tried to switch in the 60's dude, but it would have just cost to much money and such i think. i think people who work with mechanical tools on cars like you said have some knowledge of the metric system because of diff tool sizes and such. and then theres drugs..which help us Americans get a grip on metric weights.Pauli Wallnuts wrote:i like £'s, lb's, gallons, eights & ounces, but seriously fahrenheit???cantona7 wrote:the only destination on the weather tab was London(always been cupertino California here), and was also set to Celsius and the 24 hr clock as well.why u americans always gotta be different in an akward way

ok it sounds real dramatic when its really hot and you can say its over 100* out, but what about when its freezing, saying its 30degrees out dont sound to dramatic to me
it makes sense that water freezes @ 0 degrees not 32 (i had to check that
) &boils @ a hundred.

also like you said hearing its 122 degrees in las vegas is more impressive than hearing its 52 or w/e haha. same goes on your end when i hear its -28 or w/e in moscow but in Fahrenheit its just like 34. could be worse i guess..at least we're not on kelvin or something .
