I am excited........ Greeting from TX. Pending 1st trip

Post by gideon »

Hey what is going on? I just wanted to stop by and greetings.

Life has been shitting on me this year, was engaged to be married. I mean I had the date, the ring, the Honeymoon trip to Italy. But FAIL!

So now I have a credit that happens just to be enough for a round trip ticket to Amsterdam and back.

I seriouslly thinking about the NOV 20-30 like so many of you. I mean the CC is like a dream come true......

I have so many questions..???

Like where to stay?

Anyone from Houston going?

Sorry things did not work out for you, BUT Amsterdam is really a magical place and you will find plenty of solace in making the trip i'd wager.

I would urge you very strongly to BOOK NOW for that time of year. It's extraordinarily busy at cup time.

I recommend staying in the Centraal / Red Light District for convenience.

I would recommend the Bulldog Hotel and Hostel on Oudezijds Voorburgwal 220. I have stayed there 5 times now, it's great. Dorm rooms, doubles, quads, whatever.

Booking now is a great idea.
If you prefer a solo room.
Some great deals at www.priceline.com , i'd stick to the centrum area.

Welcome to the forum.

When you have firm dates for your trip, get them to me.
I'll post you on the Whos In Town pages.

First timers get my S G Collins recommendation
I think a read of this will maximize your efficiency once you get there.

How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.

You can practice shop on the Coffeeshop Menus page.

Enjoy

Welcome to ACD! My fiancee broke it off with me in 2008 and I went to A'dam to blow off some steam, best decision ever!

Anywhere in the city center would be fine. What type of budget do you have? I have stayed in everything from 5 star hotels to 1 star hotels and everything in between.
Anyone from Houston going?
Not from Houston but leaving from Dallas flying through IAH on Nov. 21. Are you flying Continental or KLM? I can't believe it's cheaper to fly from Dallas than Houston. Keep an eye on the Cannabis Cup thread in the travel Plans board at the top. There will be more information about the Cup as it becomes available.

Peace,
Balou

You have been posted on the November and December Whos In Town pages.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.
Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/profi ... le&u=48842

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.
