Hi to everyone on this site, i have been lurking here for a while now but never posted, so please be kind. I was doing a google search earlier for dutch coffee shops and stumbled across the above news stories. I know there was a lot of talk about earlier in the year and last year about tourists being banned from coffee shops, but i really didnt think it would happen, well it appears that i might have been wrong (as well as many oter people) in assuming it wouldnt happen and by sounds of things it could be happening sooner rather than later. :(

I have been to amsterdam many, many times now but not for the past 6 years and im going again in 5 weeks for my hooney moon, my soon to be wife has never been but it has been a dream of hers for years so it would be such a shame if things change, especially if it changes before we get there.

What do you guys think about all this?

How do you think it will affect our favourite european city?

I think is very unlikely to affect Amsterdam any time soon and currently is just aimed at border towns. A lot will depend on the outcome of the coalition talks that are going on in Holland at the moment.
