I know what you mean about them falling over. I had a Citral fall over after the fourth week of flowering because it was too spindly. Poor thing never recovered. Dried and smoked the popcorn-sized budlings and a few leaves. Had to be the harshest shit I have ever smoked. Still got me buzzed so not a total failure.

I've never had any problems using stakes, although my method differs from his (ftcarer). You're right about staking, nothing wrong with taking precautions. Better safe than sorry and all that... I have read some grow journals that had mentioned a few problems, mainly with root shock. The stakes were mentioned as possibly being too close to the base of the plant. The problems could have been the type of wood used, or the stakes could have been chemically treated. Either way, ftcarer shouldn't have such problems because he replied that the stakes were temporary.

I still think my method of staking is better for the plant.

Wasn't sure where to add this but as it is concerning my grow here goes , was out earlier this evening with a couple of mates sorting some football stuff out , while i'm out my 3 boys + 5 or more kids from the street are out playing football , hit the local piss heads window he comes out , calls them all the names under the sun & adds he will be round to sort out all the dads later , so my wife & a couple more mums all ring the police , I get home , get told , 1st thought ,better put this joint out then 2nd (paranoid prat ) fucking hell that fan sounds bloody loud tonight + wifey swears she can already smell them whenever I open the tent 4 of them left about 20 mins ago now to go see the guy us being the last of the parents fuck knows if they heard or smelt anything thanks fuck it wasn't a few weeks ago my babies were still on the windowsil i nfull view , paranoid update over

av a word with ya mrs pal about the police when ya doin what your doin never ever get the rozzers round ya street unless its very very urgent. tbh mate a wouldnt worry about that thou theyd of said summet about it there not goin go away, and let someone else get the collar they dont know youve only got 4 could av a room full couldnt ya.

looking pretty good FT. The only thing I see is they seem a lettle leggy. With a smaller HPS you want shorter bushier plants. What I do is start with T5 HO or CFL's for the first 3 weeks so you can put the light within 1-2 inches, this will keep them shorter and cause them too bush out more...Good Luck

I aint no expert bt i think you had them on the window for a while first ? thats how there lookin "leggy" mine were the same they will be ok once they have grown a bit mine is in flower now eh i mean my mates

Thats right & prob to long for UK sunlight they are still doing good 5 wks veg so far & f'ing stink (especially the wappa) without the fan + filter going

That's a nice set up, good luck with your first grow. Me and the mole grew some once when we were 17, let them grow for 6 weeks then went through a dry period and thought we smoke them. 2 problems, firstly we didn't know we needed buds so smoked the leaves and secondly they were only about 8 inches tall. Needless to say we didn't get high but we did get chest pains from trying to smoke oven dried baby leaves !!!

A few of the lower/smaller leaves have dropped off & the Wappa's top leaves are curling up a bit also think it is getting a bit hot in there so another fan is next on list Wappa still stinks

Bloody looking good now , they seem to have less space between internodes now , nice n bushy !! What light you using ?

So far, so good, sort of...

I looked over my grow pics and noticed the same discoloration on a couple of my plants that was similar to yours, although mine was the result of flushing, so I didn't give a shit. Yours are getting ready to be put to bed for 12/12, so if I were you, I would definitely pay close attention to those lower fan leaves. If the discoloration continues, you could have major problems. Nutes can be such a bitch sometimes. Better to nip it in the bud early (no pun intended).
